  • The protesters should target the shameful 199 people who abstained from voting IMO AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE THAT SO MANY DID IT

The utterly ridiculous clowns running the EC, the army and the foul, super corrupt army appointed senators just don't get it. The people have spoken, yet you goons still try to steal the election.

It's a coup waiting to happen.  Watch for the headline "Prayut comes out of retirement........."

  • Popular Post

It will be a yellow shirts protest in Bangkok and it can be massive like they turned out and protest Thaksin's amnesty. Most likely peaceful but in numbers that they authority can't ignore. It will not move a dial for Pita as senators are locked in to deny his candidacy but will progress the formation of the new government speedily with a more moderate PM likely K Setha Thavisin. I believed that MFP has considered that scenario and will stick with PTP and the coalition. Breaking up the coalition is not an option both parties will contemplate.

Looks like there will be trouble in Thailand after all

In the not too distant past Nepal had a social revolution in a very similar  socio/political climate that Thailand is suffering from right now. Power to the People!

And not by standing in front of the building with inflated plastic ducks, singing songs like they did in the recent past, this is not going to work. Thai should look back at short but powerfull revolutions in 80-90ties, Romania, East-Germany, a.o.

Nah this is going to be different, before in the old red/yellow days things were more regional now the whole of BKK voted for Pita as well as the North and the South  that's the difference, the old tribal loyalties are no longer the same so there will be buses from Issaan the South and local BKK...

I live in a small city in North Eastern Issaan and I have many Thai friends. That is where I get my information from. There will be far more protesters this time

Once he lost the vote to be the new pm,the people voted for. They was going to be trouble for sure.Benefits for some of course.Only can wait and see now

They were named in parliament one by one as they cast their votes; including all abstensions.

I suspect an abstension means the individual is open to persuasion - either way.

Maybe I won't go to Bangkok this month.  Was planning on an Apple Store and Shake Shack run next week but?

Where’s the world condemnation?

Is this parliamentary procedure correct?

I don’t know , just asking.

I expect to see a million people on the streets of Bangkok come the next vote for PM on the 19 June . To me anyone who abstains there vote should be counted as a yes vote as well as those who purposely failed to turn up for such a crucial vote . By the looks of it Thailands elite do not want change for the good they are ignoring the people’s vote which was the highest vote ever recorded in the kingdom ,a very sad day for democracy. The will of the people has been ignored by a bunch of scoundrels . I wouldn’t be surprised if like last time the demonstrators close all the major airports down that would be more problematic than street demonstrations .

What is at stake here is much more than what the media says, it is an elite underground war that will bring nothing good for the country.

The authorities knew that refusing to accept the people's choice of Prime Minister would lead to rioting. This is a scenario that was just waiting to happen, and the military will feel justified in taking whatever

actions they need to quell the demonstrations; Military Junta Rulebook 101.

The combined weaponry of the total armed forces together with the entire police force cannot stop the will of a population of 70 million if they so desire it.

As for the government, army and police, It would be to their own peril and their families, if the Thai population were to rise up.

All it takes for dictatorships to flourish and prosper, is for good people to do nothing. That may not work this time.

they will get whats coming to them! when you dare to thwart the will of the people then you deserve everything that you get!

som nom naaaaaaaaa

Myanmar generals must be rubbing their hands in glee, "takes the international spotlight off our atrocities". China rubbing their hands too, "Destabilise Thailand and move on in".

Hold on tight. Maybe the Thai army will enlist the Soviets 'on holiday' there??

Shame the generals and the corrupt can't see what a <deleted>storm they're brewing.

On the contrary, who would be stupid enough to knowingly retain shares in a media company, especially when your predecesor was banned for the same reason and announce inflamitory policies on changing the lesse majeste laws. That is just plain stupid and shows a lack of polical awareness.

Typical in Thailand though.

Attention to detail is not a forte.

The Wagner Group are available.

Who will be paying the protesters their 500thb daily allowance this time?

  • Popular Post

What did they expect (if there are protests) when 80% of the Senators abstained - spineless puppets (Muppets), EC even worse & CC better not go down that road!

Do these lot not think!!! (Rhetorical) The people want change, they voted for change & the old guys, dinosaurs whatever you wanna call them still - "much better when we were in charge" - of course you get richer!!

About time you listened to the Thai people if your hearing aid loud enough or not asleep!

They've had enough as proved by the elections

We have no dog in this fight.

Once they  heard the commisson sending info to the courts for decision, the senate and MP's decided to sit on ther fence until the next vote, and if the court does the right thing he will get voted in. Wait and see, but, if the court does the wrong thing....well

It was boring for too long. Now let the games begin!

The police should be preparing to arrest all those usurper's of democracy who have left the country in limbo because of an illegal constitution and the formation of an unelected senate who only tug their dyed forelocks in the direction of their paymasters...

What's that famous phrase " Let them Eat Cake " Anyone that turns up will be given a bowl of Sticky Rice.

Lets not speculate on what could happen

Pita is not stupid he will wait for next week and try again

If not successful then there could be trouble brewing

I hope so.

There needs some change!

Some hell needs to be raised!

Personally, I don't see much happening as many Thais are disillusioned by the fiasco, They will stay home and feel they tried but the powers that be put an end to that dream. I am hoping that the armchair warriors promoting armed conflict will wheel their armchairs out to parliament.

Everybody who voted was named on live TV yesterday.

Prawit going to be put up against Pita according to PTP next round, says Khaosod. It's a marvel to watch Mr. T at work. He's almost back in the saddle again.
