Kuwaiti Man Detained for Stealing Airline Staff's iPhone at Suvarnabhumi Airport

On July 31, 2023, at 2:30 PM, a CCTV camera captured an incident at the check-in counter of an airline inside Suvarnabhumi Airport's Terminal 4. A Kuwaiti passenger approached the counter to report his travel plans from Bangkok to Kuwait.

 

While the female staff checked his documents and baggage, it was discovered that the passenger's baggage exceeded the weight limit, requiring an additional fee, reported Siam Rath.

 

The airline employee used her personal phone to inform the passenger about the excess baggage charge. Seizing the opportunity, the passenger discreetly snatched her iPhone and pretended to return to his original position. However, he cleverly hid the phone in his pants pocket and proceeded to board the aircraft.

 

Later, the damaged phone's owner realized her phone was missing and identified the passenger as the suspect. Without hesitation, the occurrence was immediately reported to the Suvarnabhumi Airport authorities.

Subsequently, law enforcement personnel, accompanied by the aggrieved staff, took into custody an individual named Mr. Al-Azmi, hailing from Kuwait and aged 39, just as he was making preparations to embark on the airplane.

 

Despite his denial, the evidence was compelling, showing he had intentionally avoided the phone inspection through an X-ray machine.

The suspect now faces charges of theft at the airport, and the investigation will continue to ensure justice is served. The victim, Ms. Rasika, expressed her gratitude to the police for recovering her phone, which she had purchased for over 40,000 Baht. She firmly asserted that she would pursue the case until justice is achieved.

Was the photo of him taken on the Iphone that was recovered from his pants that may explain the fuzziness ????
