Popular Post snoop1130
The Pheu Thai party has urged the caretaker government of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to stop transferring senior government officials during the current transition period. The party also urged permanent secretaries of all ministries to delay the planned reshuffle of high-ranking officials, until there is an instruction from the new government, which is yet to be formed. In a statement issued today (Friday), Pheu Thai, the core party in the coalition trying to form the new government, also referred to the Constitution, which restricts caretaker governments from approving projects which will be binding on its successor. It also prohibits the caretaker government from reshuffling permanent officials and officials of state enterprises. observer90210
Why all these transfers ? Plainly sack the incompetent or corrupt officials mainly those at the counters of immigration or land transport who depending in which area, just love to add new issues or hassles to foreigners.
Popular Post hotchilli
Prayut still trying the screw the new incumbents before he leaves. His senate got rid of Pita, his favoured officials in strategic places could play a role later. 2 1

Popular Post herfiehandbag
Prayut's government is continuing on as before. Why is that? Because it fully anticipates that whilst the General at the top may change, the rest of the government, it's cronies and what pass for policies will continue as before. 4
Popular Post bamnutsak
In May, 2014 the Constitutional Court removed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra from office unanimoulsy, along with nine of her Minsters. She was caretaker PM at the time. Her "crime": transfer of national police chief in 2011, and replacement of that chief. Note that the RTP report directly to the PM. I'm sure there will be a similar result based on the current caretaker government's reshuffling. Just kidding.
RichardColeman
I'm guessing the transfers are for pension reasons - get a higher leaving pension from a higher job maybe 1
tomacht8
The constitution prohibits the caretaker government from reshuffling permanent officials and officials of state enterprises. Classic. If it suits them, the call comes to bow to their constitution. If not, they give a poo on it and they simply disregard the existing law in an autocratic manner. 1
dinsdale
You (PT) have chosen to sleep in the same bed as the enemy. Every Thai is aware of this. Doesn't matter what you say or do you are finished. You have sold out your voter base. Game over.

True, my guess is that Thaksin will return, and they hope this will calm the people, he will get a pardon, which may cause a spike in incense and whyskey sales. It was never going go anywhere with MFP, but this may change in the next election, if there is not another coup.

herfiehandbag
"Pheu Thai tells Prayut administration to stop shuffling officials". To which the response was: "Listen matey, we are in charge, we will continue to be in charge; if you really want your bossman and his floozie sister back then belt up and don't rock the boat!" candide
I am surprised. I would have thought the Junta reshuffled all officials long time ago. But there are maybe new opportunities from retirements. It looks like the yellow-green network is preparing for hibernation by putting its people in warm places. Poseidon
I will laugh if Phu Thai gets screwed here. They will be in a terrible position no power and having to explain to there electorate. Best thing to do would be to force mp Rolex Into a minorty government and then block everything with move forward till proper elections are held. But then pigs will fly Edited August 13, 2023 by Poseidon
