This event follows Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha's policy to curb illegal weapons and ensure citizens' safety.

Pol. Gen. Damrongsak Kittiprapas, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, initiated the operation to dismantle illegal arms networks.

The destroyed firearms, numbering 33,764, were sponsored by Millcon Steel Group. The National Police Headquarters had previously authorized the disposal of confiscated firearms, ensuring they won't be misused in criminal activities.
