Pheu Thai prime ministerial candidate Paetongtarn Shinawatra travelled to Dubai to meet her father Thaksin on Tuesday, to take him to an eye doctor, according to her Instagram account; Ingshin21.

She posted photos of Thaksin, now 74, undergoing an eye test, apparently at a hospital. Together with her to Dubai is her eldest daughter; Titarn.

Paetongtarn also shared a TikTok clip, which narrates the life of her father since childhood, before and after marriage, as well as his political history. The music used in the clip is “Que Sera, Sera” (Whatever Will Be, Will Be), made famous by Doris Day in the 1956 Alfred Hitchcock film “The Man Who Knew Too Much”.

With deteriorating health like that he should definitely stay in the desert and avoid travel and any stress.

Maybe he can convince his daughter to say with him, just in case he needs to see a doctor again.

It's so sad...

If she stays with him in the desert, it's also good for Thailand. There is hope.

I wonder if the eye test is related the the mysterious condition that prevents travel to Thailand but not Cambodia

'Whatever will be, will be' sounds somewhat fatalistic.

Shouldn't Toni be back in Thailand by the 24th, according to the latest itinerary?

They should be playing something more upbeat such as ' Going home' by Ten Years After.

Look at that modern device in the picture above.

Not like Thailand... ????

Surely thou jests.

Hope, with what has happened in the last 14 years and the crazy lies and double dealing by the dinosaurs regarding the election results.

There is no hope. The only hope was taken out of the game in round one.

He said the doctor needed to see him.... so we see him getting an eye exam. What a joke.

'Thousands of extra-judicial killings' ring a bell?

No it doesn’t.

Please provide some info or links about the charges laid against Thaksin for thousands of extra judicial killings.

If they charged him for things such as tax avoidance and abuse of power, then surely they wouldn’t have overlooked mass murder would they?

There is hope.

Finally, after many years, many Thaksin and PT supporters realize that that party and their leader was never about democracy. It's about power and money - and it always was.

I don't know what will happen in the next weeks and months. But I am pretty sure that whatever government will come now won't last very long. And then there is a lot of hope for the next government.

Or even Cambodia to Thailand, but guess the road trip would be too much strain, even using the direct route that Yinluck used a while back.

Don't be so bloody pedantic, you know full-well what is being inferred with that statement.

Years back it was reported several times (with pics) that he had his old Thai GF with him in Dubai. Regardless of that I'm guessing he has several personal staff in Dubai.

Then why does he needs his daughter to travel so far to take him to the doctor?

Does he have dementia?

Or, if he's coming back to LOS soon there's several world class eye hospitals / specialists here in LOS.

I am sure they talked for hours about his grandchildren.

As we all know he told us all he has nothing to do with politics anymore, since many years already.

Do your own investigation into the purge on drugs.

That's a long way to go just to take someone for an eye test.

I would have thought a billionaire might have staff to help with something like that.

I flew up to Bangkok for my one all by myself.

Yes, they would. It's called extra judicial  for a reason.

Why no charges?

Why no convictions?

Why, according to you, has Thaksin been given a free pass for multiple murders?

Huh?

You make no sense?

If the murders were extra judicial then the murderers can’t be charged?

Bit silly mate.

I imagine that there might be others in attendance....or from a distance.

Finalizing the deal.

My bull<deleted> detector is going to 11. She needs to fly to Dubai to take her dad to an eye doctor? During a crucial time for "her" party trying to form a government coalition and needing to talk to other parties on a daily basis?

Oh and aparently it was OK for Thaksin to fly from Cambodia to Dubai for this eye doctor checkup which prevented him from flying to Thailand.

This PR campaign is so pathetic.

The report into the killings ( see below) was suppressed, no doubt because the authorities didn't want to investigate their own.

http://nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/read.php?newsid=30057578). In August 2007, the military-installed government of General Surayud Chalanont appointed a special committee to investigate the extrajudicial killings during the 2003 war on drugs. The committee's report - which has never been made public - said that of 2,819 people killed between February and April 2003, more than 1400 were unrelated to drug dealing or had no apparent reason for their killings. I have to see one doctor in September about one problem, and a different doctor in a different hospital about a different problem. If you don't listen to your doctor, your life can get difficult very quickly.

I, like you have no idea why he went for an eye exam but at his age (74) having an eye problem can complicate your life very much.

I didn't start wearing glasses until I was 50, my first wife in the UK started wearing them at 11 years old.

I admire his daughter for travelling to Dubai even if all she does for Thaksin is simply be there.

There are two main types of eye doctors: ophthalmologists and optometrists.

Confused about which is which and who does what? Here's a look at how they're different.

Keep in mind that these professionals can work together and that a team approach can be the best option for eye care.

Fair play.

Though old Thakky was just following the play book of nasties that has gone unnoticed for decades.....for which the secret establishment has been practicing for quite some time.

Alright for us but not for him and his circle.
