Right he was suffering from  insomnia, chest tightness, high blood pressure and that the oxygen levels in his fingertips were low, according to a statement from the Department of Corrections.

Thanks for the info. This is really a sad situation. (sarcasm alert).

BTW you mentioned it in a Thaksin topic yourself.

I was responding to a comment about Thaksin which mentioned the airport - and said that he pretended to open the airport even though it was closed again after his one flight of the day/weeks/months took off. And that he complained about signs there being in English. I'm happy that you like the airport. Now fly to Singapore and compare that airport to Swampy.

It’s amazing in Singapore. He was shaking hands walking acting very happy in excellent health then a few hours after landing in Thailand he’s so desperately sick. They fly in by helicopter to the hospital and then the next days in the master suite of the hospital prison life must be tough on him. TIT.

That Singapore could be by the best , but i never had the opportunity to be there as moderate person ,and i only like direct flights to Thailand ......

i guess it is also nicer than many European and G.B. airports ,

anyway at that time T gave Thailand a nice arrival airport face ????

There are only 2 words needed to explain what's going on here and one of them is Bull.

In recent candid photos he looks ghastly.

Definitely has health issues.

Maybe that prompted his return.

He's 74, what do you expect him to look like? The guy I saw walking around shaking hands etc. at Suvarnabhumi looked like a pretty normal 74 year old to me.

You'd think a man of his 'standing' would know that English is now the official language of Singapore.

Deal with generals was made before he entered Thailand. You keep MF party out of the government, we keep you out of the jail.

You would also think of doing a quick search.

You would be partly correct.

The constitution also states that the four commonly used languages of Singapore are English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil, with the lingua franca between Singaporeans of different races being English, the de facto main language. Singaporeans often speak Singlish among themselves. Singlish is an informal, colloquial form of English that is used in Singapore. Linguists define it as Singapore Colloquial English.[1]

In 2009, more than 20 languages were identified as being spoken in Singapore, reflecting a rich linguistic diversity in the city.[3][4] Singapore's historical roots as a trading settlement gave rise to an influx of foreign traders,[5] and their languages were slowly embedded in Singapore's modern day linguistic repertoire.

I never forgot what this individual did against the expats and what he did against the small investors instead favoring and opening golden bridges to the great's ones. He's back right now and I won't never believe he will spend  8 years in prison, therefore enjoy his wealth and leave us alone

He did delay his flight for medical reasons, much to the dismay of many butthurt AN members.

Godspeed Thaksin, hope it nothing too serious.

Sending thoughts and prayers.

Since about 2 years ago, school children have been banned from speaking anything other than English whilst on school property.

Meh a watch is a watch..... and sooo passe.

The whole thing is a charade , not worth getting worked up by it.

The only political points of interest are what happens when the Senators stand down , what will the next measure be to thwart democracy and when will the younger generation explode with frustration ?

A deal for sure but not that one. The sole reason for the existence of The Senate is to prevent anyone who is not a crony of the Generals from taking power. Move Forward were actually prevented from being in governance before the party existed - it was never going to happen.

My wife told me her sister in deep red Isaan told her a couple of days ago that he would stay at the jail for a short time but then become ill. Presumably, from there the doctors decide that he requires care that could best be provided outside the prison....perhaps under "house arrest"

Six medical specialists assigned to treat Thaksin at Police General Hospital

A team of six doctors, specialising in heart and lung diseases and COVID-19, has been assigned to treat former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who is currently an in-patient at the Police General Hospital in Bangkok, according Pol Lt-Gen Sophonrat Singhajaru, the chief physician at the hospital.

Thaksin was transferred from the Corrections Department’s hospital to the Police General Hospital late last night, after he suffered from chest tightness and hypertension.

Pol Lt-Gen Sophonrat said that, according to latest report from his doctors, Thaksin’s condition has slightly improved since last night, but he is still suffering from fatigue and high blood pressure and is being provided with oxygen. No visits are permitted.

His strategy all along... he'll never serve time in prison, he'll be accommodated as a sick patient.

Funny how he  fell ill hours after returning to Thailand.

Exactly.  This was planned well in advance,  and I heard somewhere, that he owns this hospital.  Anyone?

The last thing any government would want is for Thaksin to die in jail, it would make him a martyr to his supporters.

While I am not a fan,  the northern Thais I know much prefer him over Prayut, who they dismiss as a criminal.

Are you aware that the average IQ in Northern Thailand is 89, behind Isan at 90, Bangkok 96, and southern Thailand 94 .

was he stripped searched on arrival at the jail? I would love to see where he is staying in jail, I am told they have special suites in there,

The whole point of the story is that he's not staying in jail - he's been helicoptered to a hospital.

Assuming Thaksin would die sooner or later, will his daughter be allowed to assist the cremation?

I predicted he would be out of prison and at home on a house arrest before the end of the month.  Dayam, he's even quicker than I imagined,  If you don't think this was all planned well in advance of him coming back, I have a super yielding rice farm for sale in Issan.

I have no clue. What's the connection to my post?

House arrest with the allowance to fly out of country to visit doctors/specialists.
