Just because you're greeted with a straight face or frown doesn't mean all farangs are, in my area even the 7-11 workers know me and happily great me. The local shops all know my name, my wife's name, my home, and always greet me with a hello and a smile,  Try being friendly with the locals instead of looking at them with contempt.

I get greeted every time I enter a 7-11.  Recently, I get the same greeting when leaving ????
