They don't. But what do you suggest they do about it? Street riots have never had any effect in overturning such people it the past, and it would need a complete shutdown of businesses and the economy - a General Strike in Western terms - to achieve anything. And that is never going to happen, as the workers have no voice in Thailand and can't afford to give up their wage.

In France in 1789 and in Belgium 1830 the elite and the Government did almost the same as they are doing here in Thailand. A revolution ended it and that will cost no money but human lives. It is a sacrifice that is made for big changes unfortunately. It can go but you here more and more people complaining why they voted, that nothing is changing, and things are going worse every year. It will take time but it will happen. A coup could trigger it and I think the army knows it. That is why they come with all kind of financial help, as in Thailand money is important, but it will not solve the problems

Thank you for confirming it has happened in only a small number of countries, and centuries ago. Now can you tell me how, in the modern world, people whose most serious protest so far has been to show their phone lights and wave rubber ducks, overcome tanks and guns?

This was a wise decision. So far, Pita has shown us nothing but integrity and that is in very short supply here, when it comes to politics. They need to oppose the highly toxic army and the sold out PT, which likely lost alot of it's remaining goodwill by jumping into bed with the reptiles.

Thailand mourns. For now, it's future has been stolen once again by the army thieves and goons. The army is no doubt the enemy of the people, and so is the new stooge PM. The recent election shows that the people are both sick of being led by highly ignorant dinosaurs, with no interest in progress, and are interested in smart, young folks, who are serious, accomplished, capable of change, and interested in insuring that Thailand has a good future. Pita is exactly what this nation needs, at this point in time. However, he was too progressive, and the goons had to stop him, in the name of regression.

After all, this is a man who interrupted his studies at MIT, during an MBA program at Sloan to rescue his father's rice bran oil business, Agrifood, after this fathers death. He was successful, and is paying down the 100 million baht his father borrowed to start the company. This is a serious man. Very unlike the failures before him. He then went back and finished his MBA, at one of the top business schools on the planet. He is an accomplished man, unlike the army goons, who are only good at bossing young men around. Nothing else. Nada. Zero. Nunca.

But but but he is not of a wise old age of 93 . How can he possibly be any good at solving the country's problems.

if we had some nice quiet time.... with some johnny walker..... i would tell you some conspiracy theories ( that maybe you haven't heard) .     one being why anyone in power , around the world,  is NOT  chosen by "the people" .

it is quite a sad story , though,  and of course .... complete nonsense backed only by sources that are fact checked and found spreading misinformation.  Just like .............  oops,  can't say that either.

Do you see it changing anytime soon?  I don't, not without a civil war to rid the country of the current military and I really don't think the downtrodden Thai people have the stomach for that. Jeez I'd absolutely love to be wrong.  Not that I want to see war but I really think Thailand deserves a real democracy where all have the chance to develop and progress. I just don't see it happening without one.

One thing I find slightly different now - since a certain person died, is that more people are prepared to come out and say they are being used, being denied real self governance and all that goes with it.

Yes, even if in 4 years if this ridiculous coalition Government lasts that long and the  MFP wins a huge landslide election you can be sure that amending the Constitution again will be fixed and meanwhile and not just the students but the "winning" party will have had their success stolen yet again.
Very sad times indeed by the military and the Senators and supposed to run their "service" in 2024 and the Elite.

Same same throughout theworld and frankly despise the lot of them as liars and thieves and do not serve the peope whovoted for them and so nothing has changed.
