There's a bookshop with plenty of English titles at the top of one of building near phrong pong - might be helix building? Around asok you have nice parks to sit and read, early evening or morning - too hot in the day.  Another option is get yourself some comfortable earphones and get into podcasts. DIY is another hobby that can be oddly satisfying.

Love to see the humor in this Thread, and that you are keeping a positive attitude.

I used to smoke  a long long time ago, and my commute from work was at least a three  cigarette  commute. When I quit I remember thinking, What do I do now while driving

It turns out, you do the same things people that don't smoke do.

Though drinking is a different addiction, I think I understand where you are coming from.

Riding trains  is a great distraction. I am sure you will find otherers.

Perhaps buy a cheap acoustic guitar, and learn how t play it a bit.

Then you can write a song about riding trains

Keep the positive attitude my friend:smile:

Are you in the UK writing these stories?

Bob.  Friendly and serious advice - Hook up with AA Thailand.
https://www.aathailand.org/all-meetings?language=en

And you'll find more support in the AN "I Drink Too Much Forum."

There are other venues where your story will be welcomed and you'll find the support that you obviously need.

If you believe you are going to address sobriety while maintaining connections with your drinking buddies, you are sorely mistaken.

Get help.  Really.

I used to love visiting Prague and Vienna so that I could ride the trams and metros in those cities. I'd buy rover tickets and go all over the networks. It's a great way to travel and a good distraction if one is having issues.

Go for it Bob.

Day 5 of no booze.

Today I will be riding trains to anywhere and everywhere to cure my alcohol withdrawal boredom.

Today is the first day that i've felt like i want to get out of bed.

I may even go to watch a movie and eat popcorn.

I also fancy a steak..

happy friday everyone.

Best of luck
