webfact
Residents of Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province, were stunned when they discovered ancient bones protruding from the ground in an old oil palm plantation after heavy rains eroded the sandy soil. Locals suspect it could be a relic as old as Chiang Rai's. They immediately informed the police for further investigation, reported, reported Siam Rath. Today (September 25, 2023), local news reported that Nong Han District Police in Udon Thani received a report from villagers in Don Hai Sotak Village, Group 8, Don Hai Sotak Subdistrict, Nong Han District. They had found ancient bones protruding from the ground in the old oil palm plantation after several days of heavy rain caused erosion, revealing deep furrows. Picture: Siam Rath Upon initial inspection, the ancient artifact resembles a melon-sized bone container, complete with handles on both sides. Some of the human bones are visible above the soil. Police suspect it could be an ancient relic similar to those found in Chiang Rai's vicinity, which was once an ancient forest or burial ground. Further examination by relevant authorities is required to determine its origin. Local resident Moraa Suwansingh, 69, revealed that his son stumbled upon the ancient find while searching for frogs in the empty portion of the oil palm plantation. Intriguingly, he described seeing a beautiful woman in white clothing walking near the spot in a dream a few weeks ago. Picture: Siam Rath The area was previously dense forest known as Dong Bak, which transformed into an oil palm plantation over the years. Picture: Siam Rath The community is now eagerly awaiting the authorities' assessment, wondering if this ancient relic holds historical significance or perhaps even spiritual implications. The discovery has left them astonished and puzzled, with some recalling their own unusual encounters in the vicinity.
