Popular Post Dogmatix
I was picked up by a cab driver who was in tears because he was scammed by a couple who looked wealthy and talked as if they were. He picked them up in Pathum Thani and asked him to pay the expressway fee as they needed to go to an ATM. He took them to an ATM in Sukhumvit and they just scarpered. Nice. 2 1

Jonathan Swift
Feel bad for these guys because most taxi drivers are good honest people, and in this case they were betrayed by their own. When you are a nice guy you tend to trust others a little too much sometimes. I have had many very pleasant rides with the good guys, often a fun challenge in trying to crack jokes and just converse with minimal language overlap. I've had drivers many times go out of their way to find me after I left things in their cabs. 1
Sigmund
No scam should be applauded. No scam should be tolerated like those by some dishonest taxi drivers at Suvarnabhumi airport who refuse the meter or add absurd toll fees and other extras. This gives out a horrific image of the country. Such taxi scams may seem superficial at first, but can have deeper consequences and deter many investors big or small from bringing money in Thailand. Deserted
Taxi drivers being ripped off, so they are on the receiving end sometimes. What a shame.
