Woke is now defined in this dictionary as “aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice),” and identified as U.S. slang. It originated in African American English and gained more widespread use beginning in 2014 as part of the Black Lives Matter movement. By the end of that same decade it was also being applied by some as a general pejorative for anyone who is or appears to be politically left-leaning.

and in reality a mistaken 'definition' of left wing.

In fact in the USA there seems to be a big misunderstanding what left wing means, often believing is to mean communism or socialism, both of which are not (in modern term/times) understood at all.

No, essentially it means being anti White.

Definition actually differs from that......

the section of a political party or system that advocates for greater social and economic equality, and typically favors socially liberal ideas; the liberal or progressive group or section.

You're just delusional about your surroundings.

Harvard admissions:

I'm not delusional about anything. Another one who assumes about people they know nothing about. All I did was post the definition. People get into Harvard because of their grades. Blacks apps are accepted more. One school isn't what the definition is about.

you should correct the word "civilication" as you may have thought about writing "civilization" or maybe English is not your primary language. Did your post asked about a "dead" treat to humanity, Nooooo, thus for me Vladimir Putin is the "current living thing" that's a teat to humanity. If he's dead I am quite sure many people will celebrate it but no idea if the world would be any better or worse.

You should correct the word teat maybe a Freudian slip?

No English is not my primary language but everybody makes mistakes?

The definition is wrong, though. So, you don't know that Harvard and all other top US universities don't just admit based on grades. They have a "personal rating" system, which in fact means if you are non-White you win. Please educate yourself on the topic.

Yes, I knew this just like you did. Please educate yourself on what assuming means, and stop, because it makes you look ignorant.

There is no assumption, it's a fact that top US universities are so woke that they are simply anti White. Proven by facts. You can't disprove and get emotional, as always on the left.

You are assuming I don't understand what politics are and how people get into schools and jobs. I lived in the US for 62 years, and didn't hide in the basement. I don't get emotional about politics. I've watched liars get elected all my life, and do little of what they promise. Too much infighting is why things don't get done as they should anywhere. Just as many elected a misogynist, racist moron the last time, problems won't be changed until they can agree on the best solution.

What do you think is the biggest threat to humanity/civilication?

The biggest threat to humanity/civilication [sic] are nuclear weapons.
The second biggest threat to humanity/civilization are those who promote the idea that "first strike" and "tactical use" of nuclear weapons will not lead to Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) and therefore promote their use.

And the 1000 lbs gorilla in the room are Coronal Mass Ejections and the fact that most governments refuse to spend the money to "harden" the primary grids against EMF/EMP.

One of those two will take out humanity as we know it, very likely (at my age), in the limited amount of time I have left in this corporal existence.  I'm not particularly worried as I've lived a good, long life (at 70+).  However, my heart goes out to those generations who are our children's, grand-children's, and great-grand-children's ages.  But as Stalin as aptly pointed out.  "The lost of one human life is a tragedy; the lose of one million human lives is a statistic."  The problem being that the psychopathic "leaders" of this f***ed-up planet think like that, unfortunately.

The world is so full of hate like never before.  Everyone seems to hate everybody, even people from their own countries their supposed allies.

I wonder if that hate is mostly on the internet and gets worse by social media.

If I look at the news or watch YouTube videos, I see a lot of hate. In real life, not so much.

I use the internet mostly to learn something or for entertainment. But there are lots of people out there who like to shout at each other. And with X and other services that gets worse all the time.

There is an easy way out: Don't participate and ignore the (online) idiots.

Exactly the opposite is true. As the world's population increases more food and resources are needed, which means more deforestation and development of acres of land. Biodiversity is decreased, species are killed off at a faster rate. More pollution, more use of oil, which means more emissions, increasing pollution and increasing the climate changes, which are happening and will hurt us. Thinking like that is why it continues. Ignorance lets the rich destroy for profit

Climate change not being a feature of the end of an ice age but man made? C'mon, bro, next you're gonna tell that Covid wasn't the flu.
