Six additional Thai nationals have been reported dead in Israel, raising the death toll to eighteen, according to Jakkapong Sangmanee, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The retrieval of the bodies has been hampered by the incessant conflict in the region, restricting officials from entering the affected areas, reported Thai Rath.

The announcement came during a press briefing at the Government House ahead of a Cabinet meeting, shedding light on the ongoing efforts to aid Thai citizens in Israel amidst the hostilities.

These recent deaths have not yet been recovered, with Israeli authorities unable to access the area due to the persistent fighting.

On a positive note, Jakkapong revealed an increase in the evacuation of Thai citizens from the danger zones. Approximately 5,000 of the estimated 30,000 Thais in Israel have been moved to safety, with over 3,000 expressing a desire to return home.

Commercial airlines are the primary means of evacuation, as military aircraft have been unable to land in the tumultuous region.

Efforts are underway to charter planes to expedite the evacuation, as the conflict nears the airports. The safety of Thai nationals remains a priority, and the Thai government is exploring all available options to ensure their secure and swift return amidst the ongoing hostilities.
