Israel to pay ฿35k per month to wives of Thai workers killed in Hamas raid and child support

Minister of Labour Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn was also joined by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin at the SC Park Hotel in Bangkok on Sunday to welcome the latest Thai returnees from Israel amid emotional and heart-rending scenes after they had flown in earlier on a Fly Dubai chartered flight to Utapao Airport.

The government is working with Israeli authorities to provide replacement and reserve passports to a growing number of Thais in Israel who want to return after witnessing the terror unleashed by Hamas in southern Israel on Saturday, October 7th. The repatriation operation is to be completed by early November. 

As more Thais are found dead in Israel, the Israeli government has announced compensation packages for the wives and families of the deceased and support payments for those injured. Wives will receive ฿35,000 a month, with child support for those under 18 being paid at ฿10,000 to ฿11,000 per month.

 

The Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv is currently working with Israeli authorities as Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has talked about boosting repatriation efforts by hiring an Airbus A380 aircraft in addition to Royal Thai Air Force flights and chartered flights from Thailand’s airlines. On Sunday, 90 people were received by officials at Utapao Airport, and a further 137 were due at Don Mueang Airport on Monday, with 7,446 now wishing to be repatriated, and this number is expected to grow further along with the death toll, now at 28.

 

On Sunday, the Minister of Labour, Mr Phiphat, revealed that the death toll for Thai workers in Israel had risen to 28 after the horrific invasion of the southern part of the country by Hamas terrorists from Gaza on October 7th.

Is it normal SOPS for the israeli government to pay compensation to the family of the dead from foreign countries? (Apart from the ones involved)

The Palestinian Authority goes so far as to pay convicted terrorists a monthly allowance – the more serious the offense, the more money they receive. The families of terrorists killed by Israeli security forces during a terror attack receive a monthly "pension" as well.

Article says until remarried….. children ( parent)  will get 10,000 a month until 18 years old. I’ve never heard of such open ended but good for the families that lost loved ones..

Until the widow remarries. Technically, common law marriage etc. popular in Thailand counts - but in effect no measures to stop payments on such grounds. Kids get it until they reach 18.

Not sure how you meant. As far as I can tell, they pay the same to tourists that were hurt in attacks - same deal.

 

Reading some of the Israeli social media and news, it would seem that there are extra funds and payments involved in this case - a one tie instant grant to families directly effected, counseling fees, medical bills. I know the latter was applied to Thais in past instances. There are usually quiet a long list of benefits - but some bureaucracy to overcome, and options not always fully broadcasted to public. There are several Israeli NGO's assisting Thai workers in Israel, I'm pretty sure they know the ropes.

Wish some on here would read the full story instead of asking "until when?" Full story says until the partner gets remarried (which doubt many will on that amount free for life) & until the kids are 18, the other amount 10-11k
