A significant fire broke out at a renowned entertainment venue in Trat province, with early estimates indicating damages exceeding one million Baht. On October 27th, 2023, reports of the fire reached the Trat Provincial Police Station's emergency hotline (191).

 

The incident took place in the Nong Samet sub-district of Muang district, prompting the immediate dispatch of three fire trucks and support from the Trat Municipal Government, including volunteer firefighters, reported Siam Rath.

The two-story venue, formerly hosting live music, emitted thick smoke from its second floor. The initial firefighting team swiftly extinguished flames engulfing the bar, dining area, and walls. Simultaneously, a second team tackled another blaze on the first floor, which caused extensive damage to furnishings and even sparked a separate fire in the kitchen.

 

Mr. Prapan, the venue's manager, expressed his surprise, rushing to oversee firefighting efforts upon notification by local residents. Local government officials emphasized rapid response in emergencies like this to ensure timely assistance.

A 78-year-old eyewitness, Ms. Wirat, described hearing explosions during her morning walk near the venue, leading her to call emergency services. Volunteer firefighters, like Mr. Attaphon Laewlaksan, arrived well-equipped and swiftly contained the second-floor fire.

Preliminary investigations by local authorities suggested an electrical malfunction as the fire's possible source due to recent electrical system alterations. The establishment, a former semi-nightclub for over two decades, underwent various renovations and rebrandings before its closure. This incident adds to its tumultuous history, with estimated damages exceeding one million Baht.
