I'd like to set up some raised beds for various vegetables for two reasons, protecting the plants from rabbits etc. and making it easier to tend the plants (sore back).

 

If you've come up with your own raised bed solution, would love to see some photos.

Not my thing, I prefer 'in the ground' bio-intensive system. But there are good reasons as stated for raised beds for some folks, if you can afford the higher costs for initial construction and soil imports.  Tons of info with an Internet search: "raised bed vegetable gardening for beginners". 

I use these interlocking bricks, a bit heavy but easy to erect, dismantle, extend, etc.  You can rebar them for added strength but I have never needed to.
