More than half of the respondents to a recent opinion poll want the 10,000 baht one-time benefit, under the digital wallet scheme, to be given to every Thai who is 16 or over, regardless of their wealth.

According to a poll, by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), 50.08% of the respondents say that the money should be given out regardless of whether the recipients are rich or poor, while 26.64% say that only low income-earners should be eligible.

14.66% suggest that those earning more than 50,000 baht a month, or who have a bank balance of 500,000 baht or more, should be excluded, while 8% say that those earning 25,000 baht a month, or with a 100,000 baht bank balance, should be excluded.

So-having 25.000 each month you are considered "rich".

When foreigners apply for 90 days visa, you need to prove you have 65.000 or more to get visa granted.

So another proof, they only want the "super rich" as tourists :-)

And yes, the 10.000 should only been given as forced downpayment on credit card loans (and with card limits reduced accordingly for least 3 years).

Should be restricted to pay down on their loans and credit cards only. Social media are full of thais who tell about their impossible burden to repay debt.

Damn that! A new Honda Click is the go!

Ha ha, how many people want the government to really know what their income is? And as for a spending boost to the economy, forget it. Most will take the opportunity to reduce their debts to money lenders so there will only be a boost to their bank accounts and not to spending on goods.
