On November 6, 2023, Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, presided over a meeting at the Ministry of Interior to drive and monitor the government's policies and key missions of his ministry.

In attendance were the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Griang Kalp-Tinnant, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Suttipong Juljarern, provincial governors from across the country, and other executives, reported Siam Rath.

Anutin expressed gratitude towards all provincial governors for implementing special operations in line with the policy of social order and suppression of influential figures. Under the stewardship of Anutin Charnvirakul, the Interior Ministry has finalized strategic deliberations with the chief of national security, charting a path for collective action.

A special task force is being inaugurated with Anutin leading the charge, flanked by the Interior Ministry's senior secretary and the head of national police as his seconds-in-command.

The task force will also include the administrative director, who will document and coordinate this newly minted union's efforts.

Their mission is clear: to orchestrate a robust societal framework and to root out criminal networks that threaten the peace and prosperity of the populace.

This initiative signals a bold step towards enhancing the protection of the citizenry and their assets from the clutches of organized crime.

Anutin confirmed that there is a mutual understanding and cooperation between the two bodies to serve the public interest.

In a related urgent directive, Anutin has instructed governors nationwide to coordinate with the families of Thai workers in Israel, urging relatives to return home.

He emphasized other key policies beyond the social order and suppression of influential figures, including assistance with utility bills, promoting community products, preparing for floods and strong winds in the southern provinces, allocating land for agriculture and housing for citizens, extending service hours to boost tourism, and addressing illegal debt issues.

I do like his dressing up wardrobe.

When he was the health minister, he had a number of different, white 'doctor's' outfits.

Now that he is a minister in a civilian government, he wears military uniforms.

He either likes dressing up or the uniforms help him to feel important.

In all honesty and reality, the Minister of the Interior remains the most powerful civilian position, much more powerful than the current PM.

Anutin basically controls the entire civilian management of the country, save Bangkok (and the RTP).

My guess is that the current government has absolutely no clue as to how this man is perceived, and lacks credibility on any level. He was a complete failure as health minister during covid, and his constant ranting and raving and ridiculous comments traveled around the world. He was and is considered a circus clown, and for them to appoint him as Deputy PM, it feels as if Thailand wants to be the butt of a joke.

When they make these selections it is such a shame for the people. My heart truly goes out to them, with such poor leadership.

As Interior Minister doesn't the RTP report to him or is that direct to the PM?

The Police have been directly under the PM for several decades already.

They aren't going to investigate the police, ministers, school directors and the military are they?

Why do I think of villains in a Bond movie when I see his photo, just needs a little cat, may be a black one though.

Now that's a spicy meatball.

Asking governors to be good boys isn't going to get him any browny points.

He was invited in so PTP got the votes.

A bit like the un-wanted relative at a wedding.

Will this dirty farang be assisting him in his crackdown.

Makes sense. Only a fox knows where the other foxes are, and how to catch them.

The problem is to control the police fox.

I always wonder where the medals come from. Even the most humble of village schoolteachers has at least one row.

Are they awarded officially? and announced in the Gazette? or are they available at Woolies on discount?

😂 😆 😂 😆 LMAO
