Chavalit Thongduang, the convict who escaped from a southern hospital on October 22, was killed today during an exchange of gunfire with police.

Chavalit, who was serving 21 years in prison on robbery and firearms charges, slipped out of Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat hospital after faking a faint.

Acting on a tip-off, police surrounded a village on a mountain ridge at the area adjoining Trang and Phatthalung provinces when the shooting began.

A very convenient death.

Indeed, dead men tell no tales.

I wonder what will happen to those who assisted in his escape.
