webfact Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 A teacher in Selaphum district, Roi Et province, is under investigation after being accused of assaulting a two year old boy with a metal food tray, leaving the child with multiple bruises. The incident came to light when the Facebook page Pen Neung posted images of the child’s injuries and the metal tray. The boy’s father reported the assault to the Facebook page, alleging that his son had been beaten by his teacher at a local school using a metal food tray. The toddler’s injuries included multiple bruises all over his body. The Pen Neung team confirmed they were investigating the matter and would visit the school urgently. The Facebook page later posted images of a deep-dish metal tray, suggesting that this was the item used to strike the child. by Puntid Tantivangphaisal Photo courtesy of Sanook Full story: The Thaiger 2023-11-13 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post fondue zoo Posted November 12, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 12, 2023 My reaction to that if my child would not be reasonable nor proportionate. How scared would have that, basically a baby, been not understanding why it was happening. - fkr needs a beating, then jail. 1 5
Popular Post hotchilli Posted November 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 13, 2023 If this pans-out to be assault by the teacher, they should be relieved of their teaching license for life and jailed for GBH with intent to harm. 3
Grumpy one Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 The teachers punishment should be the same as the kid got. Only increase thickness of tray to 25 mm, and strike on head 1
Popular Post TheFishman1 Posted November 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 13, 2023 A teacher assaulting a two-year-old boy how terrible disgusting the teacher should be dismissed from teaching serve jail time for assaulting and lose her teaching license or his teacher license. How can the Thai society allow things like this to happen? Probably a lot more frequently than his reported TIT 3
Popular Post klauskunkel Posted November 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 13, 2023 agree with all above comments, also expand punishment for the bystanding idiots: Quote It also noted that other teachers in the vicinity did not intervene or assist the child, suggesting that such behaviour was considered normal 1 3

It doesn't work that way though in Thailand, does it. No mention of the police being involved, and on the rare occasions they are called in for other cases you never, ever read of a teacher being jailed. In Thai culture they are VIPs and are to be respected. My wife tells me that there is no law in Thailand against assaulting kids, as long as no-one dies. Maybe that's why we never read of any prosecutions. Her family include teachers and police, so I guess she knows what she's talking about. 3 1
Popular Post ikke1959 Posted November 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 13, 2023 No words for this kind of childabuse about nothing... It only shows again that people who are brought up with violence will do the same as they don't know that tere are other ways to educate ....fire and imprison the teacher 1 2
PETERTHEEATER Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 The PM et al should be alerted to this case and review and amend law to ensure assault on minors is punishable. Young children need to be taught discipline but certainly not through physical punishment. Had this been an assault on the child of a western foreigner the teacher could expect retribution from the father. 2
brianthainess Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 So just like a Thai She has Fled the area. Lets hope the police don't take to long "Preparing" that Summons. Still getting my head around this assorting a 2 yo child. Would be interesting to know if she has kids, if so they should be medically examined for injuries. 1
