Both. In many states as well, if you get a drivers licence you can automatically register to vote. But there is no citizenship requirement for a DL. California is like this. -

Save The Children Urges Action on Child Road Deaths in Thailand
About 12 years ago, a young 18 year-old in my family-in-law died in a car accident because his friend was driving recklessly and none of them were wearing seatbelts. It was a terrible ordeal for everyone, especially his parents, and I thought they would never recover from it (especially his mum). All these years later, they are now doing "okay" and have moved on, to the extent possible. However: Do they now wear seatbelts when they travel by car? No. Do they raise awareness in the community so that what happened to them doesn't happen to someone else? No. Do they wear helmets on their bikes? No. To me, the fundamental factor seems to be Buddhism and the inherent belief that if your time has come, then that is the way it is and it is not in your hands. -

No wonder people like to shop at Lazada.
Lazada is my primary, but my secondary for really high quality things is Aliexpress. It's more expensive as well, shipping can be really high, and really fast too. The quality of things are really just another level compared to Lazada. I buy really amazing and highest quality products from Aliexpress/China, specially the electronics, motors, controllers, power buttons, boards, tools, etc. all Impossible to find in Lazada. just junk in Lazada. Also be aware of supplements from Lazada, many fakes from USA, like those joint supplements from USA, lots are fake, and the danger is that you are putting something in your mouth you have no idea what it is... you can tell, many have very far in the future expire date, The expire date is in the bottle, which are mostly fake, expire date is usually on the label for the real goods, label cost becomes more expensive, It's cheaper to batch print clone labels. Then the quality of the label you can tell it's from a laser printer, not the high quality paint of the original label. They usually miss a serial number as well. just observe that in Lazada. -

And so the exodus of quality expats begins. This time it's personal
I agree. The change in the last 15 years is already astonishing. By 2040 the city will no longer be attractive to retirees. The same applies to Phuket. There will be no "idyllic bubbles" left. Property developers will.make sure of that. -

Keir Starmer’s EU Reset: A Strategy Built on Falsehoods
"Ruin the country" covers just about anything. You really think the country's ruined? If so, don't you think the Cameron/Johnson/Sunak administrations might have had something to do with it? After all, Rome didn't fall in a day. Import criminals? What happened to the Tory promise to take back control of our borders after Brexit? They couldn't even force through the Rwandan scheme to EXport criminals, as you call them. Give away territory? Oh, you mean Diego Garcia? We had no claim on it. The local inhabitants were displaced and banned from returning because of the US base there. Even reporters couldn't get in until the BBC were allowed a brief visit. The winter fuel payment is still available to those claiming pension credit. 800,000 people who are entitled to pension credit don't bother. I'm a UK pensioner. It took 3 minutes to Google the facts, not your scandalously misleading précis. And you suggest I'm the propagandist. Why are you so bitter? Chip on the shoulder? What did Labour, presumably, do to you? What's with the "Leftie" nonsense? This is how the Rugby Club at university c. 1969 referred to long haireds and stoners. A little passé don't you think? Might need an upgrade into the 21st century. London lost preeminence as a financial centre. So what, you say? A small price to pay for securing our borders, right? 555. What a load of you know what. And I don't copy and paste from X. I'm not even on it. Never have been. Never will be. I'm not a fan of Musk nor AI. So any more baseless allegations? Or even claims? -

Re entry permit
Nothing if you choose to get it at the airport. Go to the re-entry permit desk (after security but before immigration at Suvaranabhumi). Pay 200 baht, write down your address and tell them the date you want to come back. They fill out the form, they take your pictures, and if it is not crowded (never has been when I've done it) then ten minutes later you have your re-entry permit and then you proceed to the immigration line as usual. You can save the 200 baht if you print out the form (TM8) and fill it out before you go, along with getting photos done somewhere and taking them with you. But for me it is 200 baht very well spent. Whether you pay the 200 baht or not the fee is 1,000 for single entry, 3,800 baht for multi entry. You can also do this at your local immigration office but it is so easy and quick to do it at the airport I can't imagine why you'd bother. -

No wonder people like to shop at Lazada.
Lazada is the only one with mostly English options. But I often use it on Google Chrome to get a full translation. Only the comments now have translation which is really good. Then the app could see a lot of improvements. I just wish Lazada would get rid of all the fakes and low quality things. I know... I've already ranted about this so much, but... Try to search for brands, like "makita" the first 10 pages are all fake. same for shoes, clothe, computer, phones, etc. If you don't have knowledge and know to spot fake vs real, It is incredibly easy to buy a fake, tell you haven't gotten a fake in Lazada once? I've got, and I have always been super geeky. except with shoes... I got a fake nike, returned was easy, Lazada accepted my return as counterfeit. Shop continues to sell. -

Sunday roast dinners
Yeah, agree. The pubs are generally fine but this was another level up in quality, especially of the meat and gravy. But yes, you do have to pay for it. Even though 750 was not cheap I think it was worth the premium. Unlikely I'll be back any time soon as it is across town from where I live, but if I was in that area I would definitely drop in. FWIW we also ate beef tartare, pan fried scallops, six NZ oysters, a pizza, pan fried salmon, a wild prawn risotto and a couple of desserts (pavlova and sticky date pudding). All superb. And the service was good too - they gave us one of our desserts for free when they heard it was my daughter's birthday. -
