Chelseafan
I've finally persuaded the missus to take driving lessons. She has arranged with an instructor to take a one week course (not enough in my opinion). I asked her if the instructor is insured if my wife is driving the car - seems not and I have to pay around 5000b for the additional insurance. Is this the norm ? Surely as a driving instructor she should have automatic insurance for her pupils ? ย
AlexRich
In the UK, yes. You need to file this problem under "This Is Thailand" unfortunately.

carlyai
Back in 'the good old days', my wife got her licence to drive, then did the driving test to get her licence. :) Seems, insurance wise, you need a licence to drive a vehicle. So if she had an accident while learning to drive she would not be covered. So she aquired a licence first. Love Thailand.
