The head of a Gaza hospital has admitted to being a senior Hamas commander — and detailed how the terror group transformed the medical site into an operational hub that once housed a kidnapped Israeli soldier.

Ahmad Kahlot, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, made his taped confession to the Israeli security service Shin Bet after his arrest during last week’s raid on the facility in northern Gaza.

In a video of his interrogation released on X on Tuesday, Kahlot, dressed in an Israeli jail uniform and seated in front of Israel’s flag, said he joined Hamas in 2010 and held a rank equivalent to a brigadier general.

Kahlot revealed that about 16 hospital staffers, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and clerks, were also members of Hamas’ notorious military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

According to the hospital chief, the medical facility under his care had been turned into an elaborate military hub where up to 100 Hamas terrorists had been holed up for days before moving to a different location.

Full Story and video.

Where is the independently verified evidence of the clinic being a "military hub"? Perhaps they will come up with another laptop and a grab bag with some weapons for proof, LOL.

People under torture or duress will say anything.

Can someone tweet the UN and WHO, they have their heads in the sand

What 'heads in the sand'?

The UN is in force on the Gaza Strip - several agencies operating there.

So is WHO, and other organizations.

Most of them work closely with the health system in the Gaza Strip.

To assume they weren't aware, had no knowledge is a joke.

For all the billions poured into Gaza over the years, one wonders why it is still a mess.  Gee, where did the money go....

Indeed.

More to the point, all them UN bodies, NGO's and such - they do have accountants.....so 'we didn't know' won't cut it.

Exactly but instead of speaking up, being honest, they decide to keep quiet apart from continued condemnation of Israel. I used to have respect for these organizations and still do for much of the work they do in Gaza etc but more so throughout the world. But this has opened my eyes to another side. A darker side that is bias and in many ways complicit with the situation that has developed in many of their establishments in Gaza and the West Bank. They need an overhaul.

Can't work in Gaza (or similar places) while also being anti-government (or whomever runs the place). They'll shut the operation down or make it unsafe. Can't speak up against local public sentiment either, or they won't trust you and work with you - and much of the 'work force' is local.

So what happens is that people can it, even if they have different ideas, and in time this is internalized and becomes habit, or even replaces per-existing notions. Because it's not all untrue (Israel is 'bad' in many ways) - it's easier to accept the prevailing mindset and go along with the program. This in turn make it more accommodating for people with more closely aligned ideas to join, and so and so forth.
