Chiang Rai—At 1:30 PM, on December 25th, 2023, Mr. Chutidet Kamonchanut, the Director of the Office of Conservation Area Management No. 15, officially welcomed the first group of tourists for cave exploring at the deeper chambers at Tham Luang National Park, Mae Sai, Chiang Rai.

The group consisted of 8 people from American, Canadian, Australian, and Hong Kong nationalities. The entry fee for exploring inside the Tham Luang cave at the 2nd and 3rd chambers was 1,500 baht each.

According to a report by Chutidet, the foreign tourists unanimously praised and were impressed by the edutainment adventure as they were able to get a first-hand experience of the global mission of rescuing 13 Wild Boars.

During the trip, the group would consist of less than 12 people and they have to register in advance and be checked for any adverse medical conditions before exploring the cave which opens for up to 50 people a day.

said the tourists who explored the caves had no complaints and found the price reasonable.

A ratio of 5 professional guides to a max of 12 tourists is a heavy outlay.

7 of the group were part of the motorbike group I ride out with in Chiang Mai, I went with 2 friends on Sunday, but only inside the entrance, we were all staying in Chiang Rai. They said it was a great experience and to have Vern Unsworth with them was a bonus, they also said was well worth the money.
