Will a SCALE Help with WEIGHTLOSS? Best Scale Available on Lazada?

Hi Folks,

I need to lose about 20 pounds.

How many stone, I do not know.

But, about 8 kilos will do.

So, do you think that having a scale helps one to lose body weight?

I have never owned a scale, because I never thought I needed one.

Years ago, when I was in rowing trim, I weighed about 175 pounds, mostly muscle.

Now, I am quite flabby by comparison.

I don't know my weight, but I think it might be about 90 to 95 kilos, and much of it is not required by me.

a. So, from your experience, does having a scale at home help with weight loss?

b.  What is the best scale, from your experience, available on Lazada?

Here are two scales I saw on WIRECUTTER....but I doubt they are on Lazada.

I like a thin scale so that I will not fall off it so easily.

And, large numerals, might be good.

I might even like the scale to show Roman Numerals, just to keep my brain active in the mornings.

Also, I would like a scale that does not need batteries, but uses a photocell, or maybe just generates power using my body weight every time I step on it.

I might like to order one on New Years Eve...in fact.

Regards,

Gamma

You mean that you think that a scale cannot be a motivating and reinforcing factor in weight loss?

I do not know.

I have no knowledge or experience.

I have never tried to lose weight before.

So this is a new endeavor for me.

I just realized that now it is more difficult to tie my shoes, and to move around effortlessly, as I once did when I weighed less.

Yeah, I just realized that now it is more difficult to play with the cat under the bed and to move around effortlessly, as I once did when I was ten.

Intermittent fasting helped me go from 117k to 90-93k....

Having a scale to monitor helped....

Unfortunately/or fortunately we've been in the US since September & have gained about 7k of it back spoiling myself with favorite meals, treats, & snacks not available in LOS....

We return in January & the scale will be needed again.....

So yes, a scale is a good way to monitor progress - or lack of.....

Lots of cardio will not help you to lose much weight. I noticed that 45 minutes of treadmill walking at a fast clip burns about 200 calories. To burn off a big mac, fries and a coke you'd never get off the treadmill. Diet adjustment is the only way.

No, just buy a scale and be done with it.

If you don't measure something, you can't control it. So yes, scales will help you measure your progress.

I went from 93 kg to 78 kg. I am back up to 81 kg, after relaxing my regimen a little.

Here is what I did to achieve weight loss:

Eat as much broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and green beans as you want.

Eat as much protein as you want. Eat as much cheese and unsweetened yoghurt as you want.

Eat low carb fruits, such as strawberries and blueberries. Apples are OK. So is avocado.

Eat bamboo. It has zero carbs, chock full of fibre and minerals.

Eat almonds. Avoid peanuts, cashews, pistachios and macadamias.

Banish all sugar from your diet.

If it grows below ground, don't eat it. Potatoes, carrots and onions.

No rice, pasta or processed carbohydrate. A small amount of whole grain bread.

If you drink alcohol, spirits only. Beer is loaded with carbs.

I have a digital scale and weight myself every morning. My weight has not changed much since I was in high school even though I am now in my 70s. I weight my self as part of a total health plan including a home blood pressure test. My mother died at the age of 58 from cancer that possibly could have been treated and enabled her to live a much longer life. She ignored early signs of this cancer including weight loss.

I have much trouble doing complicated wiring connections under my many desktop workspaces.

Sometimes I must call my young female friend to help pull the wires up and around the legs of my tables.

Also, when I get down on the floor to do anything, I find it very difficult to rise again.

Often, just getting up off the floor causes me to huff and puff.

This is not good.

Losing 10 kilos will be all that is needed.

So...Please do not neglect my second question in this Topic....

What is the best scale on Lazada...IF you, yourself, might have purchased one recently.

I am a cheapskate, so I use an analog scale thrown out by one of my neighbors in the condo, in perfect working order.

The technology of the scales is not important, as long as they are reasonably accurate.

I suggest you weigh yourself every time in your underwear, for a consistent baseline.

If you can't see the readout, you need to stick with a diet until you can.

I just wish I could afford Drambuie.

Instead of beer.

But, I am not willing to pay that much for it in Thailand.

Maybe, then...just do away with alcohol, altogether.

Be thrifty should be my motto in 2024....

Sorry, Drambuie has sugar. The label says heather honey.

On one of my groups, it is normal to post a banana for scale.  There are also tablets that you can use for scale.  Fish or snakes may give you advice on scales.

When it comes to losing weight, I would recommend either the slow way - transcontinental hitch-hiking; or the quick way - traumatic hospitalisation.

A serious drinking habit can help you lose hundreds of pounds in a single evening.
