Possible to buy a decent blender in Thailand for a decent price?
a. Those blades are, in my view, not nearly as good as the higher-priced blades. b. Still, that does not matter, because, at the price point of this machine, and if 4500 watts, then I am willing to buy it, just out of curiosity. c. If this machine proves to be better than the more expensive 3000-plus-watt machines sold by the top companies, then fine. d. If this machine does not measure up..then....also fine.... Nothing lost, really, and one can donate it to the nearest temple. e. Thanks for the good info. The price is SUPER-cheap. Nothing to lose! -

Taxi Driver Arrested for Helping to Smuggle Illegal Migrants Through Thailand
Picture of arrest. A 49-year-old taxi driver has been arrested in Pathum Thani after he was caught transporting nine illegal migrant workers from Myanmar, in one taxi. The arrest took place at approximately 16:00 on January 4, at a checkpoint on Phaholyothin Road, near the Klong Luang area. Police, led by Colonel Ekkachai Wansiriphak, Commander of Division 1, Highway Police, alongside other officers from the Highway Police and local authorities, apprehended Mr. Udom Chanthanon, the driver of a green-and-yellow taxi with Bangkok license plate. The taxi was found to be carrying nine migrant workers, including both men and women, who were hiding inside the vehicle. During the search, officers also discovered a cap with the words “CIB” (Central Investigation Bureau) written on it, placed on the dashboard, which the driver had purchased for 250 baht. Mr. Chanthanon confessed to picking up the migrant workers from the area near the Phraphee Pat Canal in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and was transporting them to the Lam Luk Ka area in Pathum Thani. He stated that he was being paid 400 baht per person by an intermediary to deliver the workers. He further explained that he had no intention of impersonating a police officer using the CIB cap, which he claimed to have bought as a novelty. The migrant workers, who were without proper identification documents, revealed they had paid 12,000 baht each to a broker for the journey from Mae Sai in Chiang Rai province to Thailand. Police Lieutenant Colonel Papinwitt Udomphorn, an officer from the Highway Police Division 1, emphasised that the authorities were stepping up their efforts to combat illegal immigration. Many illegal migrants attempt to enter Thailand under the guise of the holiday rush, using various transport methods, including buses, trucks, and private vehicles. The migrant workers in this case lacked proper identification, making it difficult for authorities to take legal action should they commit any crimes in the future. Mr. Chanthanon has been charged with knowingly assisting illegal migrants to stay in Thailand, while the nine migrant workers have been charged with entering and staying in the country without authorization. I'm guessing that now the holidays are over, TRD offices should be business as usual and that anyone should be able to walk in and get a paper copy of the PND90 tax form, right? I haven't seen an online copy of PND90 available for download, which is slightly ominous. In the back of my mind I'm wondering if they are going to try and steer everyone to the online system, crazy I know but not impossible. -

Perhaps, you should just add more CUMIN, and then try it again? The Chinese know how to cook lamb so that it tastes like something almost akin to the mythical taste of ambrosia. Western recipes might not be as good. Therefore, try again, next time you are in Dalian. -

According to Pol Col Pansa Amarapitak, head of Thong Lor police, the suspects, Solomon Varney Gaddeh, 32, and Yousouf Cherif, 50, were apprehended on Udomsuk Road in Bang Na late on Saturday. The arrests came after the businessman reported that two Africans deceived him out of a cash sum when he attempted to purchase 2kg of gold on 2nd January. The businessman was initially contacted by a foreigner called Richard on Facebook, who offered him gold bars below market value. They arranged a meeting in the car park of the Ibis Bangkok hotel in Soi Sukhumvit 24, where the cash exchange was to take place. At the rendezvous, Mr Gaddeh and Mr Yousouf met the businessman instead of Richard, who relayed instructions over the phone and directed them to an outdoor parking area nearby. Upon inspection, the gold bars appeared genuine; however, during the transaction, Richard called via video link, distracting the businessman. This allowed the suspects to switch the real cash for counterfeit bills. Feigning a need for their passports, they left with the gold, promising to return shortly. When they failed to return and Richard became unreachable by phone, the businessman realised the banknotes felt unusual. A nearby bank later confirmed the money was fake. The suspects admitted to the scam, revealing the stolen funds had already been transferred abroad.
