Surprised this news story is not even mentioned on this forum and the fact that very few passenger aircraft use door plugs as they serve no useful purpose only added risk on passenger planes?

Marxist talking points imop.

Go peacefully protest was the narrative for the day!

The Trouble is the Marxist never ever afforded the opposition  party the same rights as any other citizen that doesn’t  float their cultural agenda. imop

Marxists are the ones who oppose free elections, where the voters decide. You know, like North Korea, where Dear Leader decides who is in charge.

Kind of like how you think your Leader should decide who wins.

Funny how you ended up on the same side as the Marxists.

Really?

I thought one unarmed protestor wasshot and killed by a police officer on Jan 6.  Other than that, a couple fat dudes had strokes/heart attacks, probably well deserved. One police officer had a stroke and died (found to be unrelated) another took his own life.

These are 'killed by Trump'?!?

So, 140+ injured police officers don't mean anything to you?

Rosanne Boyland appeared to have been crushed in a stampede of fellow rioters as they surged against the police.

I was responding to another poster who said "Trump killed 5 people", which is a libelous untruth.

Never said anything about the injured police. Any of the rioters who attacked and injured cops should be punished, goes without saying. Same should hold true at any riot.

What was sad was that Trump incited people to go the Capitol, where many were injured, and some subsequently died.

Some clearly knew the plan to storm the Capitol, and were prepared for violent entry.

This could be replayed endlessly.... Trump also said for them to protest peacefully. And most did.

A few idiots in the crowd went too far. Amazing though that most of them forgot to bring their guns with them. Especially if they were planning the violent overthrow of the Republic, don't you think?  I can't think of any other revolutions or insurrections that did not involve firearms.

The plan was to kidnap Congressional leaders, lots of guns weren't necessary.  But stocks of guns were stored nearby, for use if necessary.

Your contention that most protested peacefully is not supported by the evidence. Those who entered the Capitol fought the police, and whenever the police made a stand, there was violence. You were given that talking point because it sounds good, but it doesn't reflect reality.

You could also say that, at any given time, most of the Southern insurrectionists during the Civil War weren't fighting, so the Civil War was mostly peaceful.

In other words, you have been given worthless propaganda that you should be ashamed of posting.

Yes, those "who entered the Capitol" fought the police. And they deserve the full punishment of the law.

As for the guns, the only gun used on January 6 was a police lieutenant shooting an unarmed protestor.

How do you define "stocks of guns" and "nearby"?  I read that there were some guns in a hotel across the river, but they were hardly available.

How many of them knew in advance that he was going to ask/demand a demonstration etc?

Something quite interesting surfaced recently.

Jan. 6 Rally Organizers Lied About Plan to March to the Capitol, Report Finds

Women for America First, which planned the rally on the Ellipse, knew of President Donald J. Trump’s plans to have his supporters march to the Capitol but repeatedly denied it to federal permitting officials.

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/18/us/politics/jan-6-capitol-rally-report.html

A White House liaison to the rally organizers sent a text message on Jan. 3 to Women for America First regarding a demonstration at the Ellipse. “POTUS expectations are intimate and then send everyone over to the Capitol,” the message said, according to the report.

Katrina Pierson, a Trump spokeswoman, had sent an email on Jan. 2, 2021, with nearly identical language.

.......

On Jan. 4, Kylie Jane Kremer wrote in a text message: “POTUS is going to have us march there/the Capitol.” She added: “It can also not get out about the march because I will be in trouble with the National Park Service and all the agencies, but POTUS is going to just call for it ‘unexpectedly.’”

Which is why it is even MORE puzzling that they 'forgot' to bring their guns.

Breaking down a crime into its component parts, and then questioning the parts is a common propaganda technique.

Few guns were brought, because they were not necessary, and if used, would provoke an immediate and crushing response by the US Armed Forces. Conversely, the military could and did ignore what seemed to be a simple riot.

Your propaganda point doesn't change the fact that Trump organized a treasonous insurrection. Your internet masters can't give you talking points to cover up Trump's crimes.

So, they wanted to have an insurrection and what...install Trump as dictator?  What was the ultimate goal here? And this would not provoke an immediate response IF they were not heavily armed?   Nah, makes no sense. Nobody has yet described what the end game was, if this were an insurrection designed to overthrow the government of the US.

Perhaps the military ignored it BECAUSE it was a simple riot. With the usual few idiots providing the heat and destruction, and the majority going along with it.

Strangely, the most vocal and public agitator just got probation and a $500 fine.   No prison time.  As best as I can tell, no pre-trial incarceration, either.

Or maybe not so strange...

The plan was to take the Capitol, either detain or chase away Mike Pence, hold the certification vote under Mike Grassley, who would use Trump's alternate electors to declare Trump the winner. Failing that, Grassley would declare that the states with alternate electors should resolve the votes via their Republican majority legislatures.

Typical sentence for someone who didn't enter the Capitol.

Nope. Because Congress was evacuated to safety, the insurrectionists just milled about, vandalizing offices. And so the military was called out and quashed the insurrection.

Yes he did, to protest, but he said nothing about invading it. You are being disingenuous to suggest that he caused it, but seems that is what you do.

I watched the entire event live, and the vast majority walked peacefully through the building, and left quietly. Just a small minority was violent

BS. Most of the people just left, and the vast majority didn't vandalise offices. I watched it live on tv.

The Trump plan was to stop the certification of the electoral vote.

So far, over 1,000 protestors have been convicted, mostly for violent behavior at the Capitol. Perhaps you were sleeping while watching the insurrection.

In this case you can't prove that Trump committed a crime at all. You are a master at making it up, that's for sure.
