57-year-old local political player mercilessly gunned down after a funeral in Nakhon Si Thammarat

Political power play or something more personal? In another chilling murder, a prominent local political figure, Mr Suriyan Anuphak, was ruthlessly gunned down in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The 57-year-old, known for his political clout, fell victim to a shotgun attack, sustaining 30 wounds mainly in the chest area. 

A local political player in Nakhon Si Thammarat was gunned down late on Thursday night. Police are confident of hunting down the assassin who appeared out of the shadows as the 57-year-old opened the door of his blue pickup truck after attending a funeral. Officers are simultaneously pursuing a number of lines of enquiry and keeping an open mind on the case.

 

Police in Nakhon Si Thammarat are investigating the murder of a local political figure who was gunned down on Thursday.

In brief, Mr Suriyan Anuphak, a well-known former sub-inspector and current assistant village headman, met a violent death at the end of shotgun blasts. Horrifically, the deceased was left with no less than 30 body wounds.

What a completely bizarre statement, there were more than one mass murder a day in 2023 in America and you're comparing Thailand? Who knows what this was all about, just be thankful that very little of the violence here is Thai on foreigner, it's almost entirely Thai on Thai. Let them do their thing, survival of the fittest I guess. 

 

Thailand is still an incredibly safe place for most of us to live. Infinitely safer than living in the West.

Why is it that some on here just can't help themselves in always diverting the story to compare with the US.

The story has absolutely nothing to do with the US,  it's a story about a Thai political figure shot in Thailand.

 

This is Thailand ... not the US.

One shot gun shell has many small balls, hence the 30 wounds. A reporter should know this

as it sounds as if the victem was shot 30 times. Not good reporting in my opinion.
