I agree with you up until the point where you start distinguishing a difference in risk between street hookers and bar hookers. If you think one is less risky than the other than that’s a self fulfilling prophecy where you’re hanging from a goat rope. Best thing is you protect yourself and not rely on anecdotal statistics. You either abstain from sex altogether with sex workers or you wear condoms. Or you use PrEP. Or all of the above. And still, maybe you get lucky and maybe you don’t. It’s just life and it’s all a crapshoot. -

Introduction to Personal Income Tax in Thailand
I may be mistaken but I thought that I read about the tax forms having a space for exempted income - and while not tax may be charged, it seems that the tax form needs to be completed - but if one tries to get a TAX ID Number, maybe by explaining this to the revenue dept official, they may advise you differently or may say you need the ID number so you can file and indicate on the form that the remited income is exempt. Maybe someone that has filed before or seen the current forms can attest to the "exempt" space on the form. My income as noted previously is not assessable income under the DTA. Good luck while we continue waiting. -

Are you suggesting that knowledge of the law should be restricted to specific individuals? I don't think they were trying to influence the judge, but I am intrigued that you think it's illegal for someone to define the law. Can you highlight what law makes it illegal to make it public knowledge that a point of law exists? That sounds very kafkaesque, like something from a Joseph Heller novel. -

This is anecdotal, but I’ve heard stories over the years about girls working in bars and testing positive and still being allowed to work in the same bar, especially if they are a good seller. Basically, it’s an issue of user beware. The ability to hedge risk falls on the user and if you are smart then one shouldn’t rely on anything anyone tells you in a bar that sells sex. -

Need Help With Lease Problem
It's a bit strange that the landlord wanted me to tell the agent something. After expressing my interest to stay, it seems like the landlord should take the ball and either present me with another lease or ask the agent to present me one since they hired the agent. It's unclear if the agent is actually doing ongoing property management, or if they were just responsible for finding me as a tenant and writing up the lease. I figured they were acting as a property manager since they come in at the end and take photo's and determine damages. I wonder if they even differentiate those roles here.
