Thailand pushes talks with Cambodia over transboundary pollution

The Cambodian pollution is bad.

If you've ever been to the border town of Thailand and Cambodia, Aranyaprathet, you can witness the pollution from Cambodia.

I have seen thousands of shoes being burned, rubber soles and all as well as polluted water coming in from Cambodia.

But with that said, Thailand can't blame all the pollution problems on them.

Thailand needs to reign in all the dirty car and truck exhaust from gas as well as diesel engines.

They also need to stop the burning of charcoal and and control the burning of fields by farmers.

I know it's easier said than done.

Perhaps have yearly smog checks by the DMV.

Have farmers rotate the burning of fields amongst neighboring farms, as a start....

Not forgetting all the dirty construction sites that allow dust to scatter in the wind, all the old crumbling concrete buildings and structures that shed particles to be picked up and scattered around.

Emissions and burning are only part of the problem.

Sort out the pollution in your own country, instead of trying to deflect the issue and dragging Cambodia into it. Sort out the problems here and jail vile polluters and field burners to stop the problem then, and only then, talk to Cambodia.
