Maybe not to those who actually matter meaning the black legal community:

Late last year, the digital publication The Root named Ms. Willis No. 1 on its list of the 100 most influential Black Americans, and feted her at a ceremony at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

Then, after the allegations emerged last month, The Root published an article criticizing Ms. Willis for poor judgment, even as it said that Black people in high-profile positions were held to harsher standards than their white counterparts. “We all love Willis here at The Root, which is why she got the top spot at last month’s The Root 100 ceremony,” the article stated. “But she absolutely should’ve known better than to put herself in this position.”

To be clear: nothing in the current accusations impacts Trump's right to a fair trial.

My feeling is that Wade needs to resign to defuse the PR issue, however. If he could be replaced.

Nobody has been able to say where the conflict of interest lies. Both want to see Trump locked up forever. They are entitled to that POV, they are not jurists.

2022 Georgia Code
Title 16 - Crimes and Offenses
Chapter 10 - Offenses Against Public Administration
Article 2 - Obstruction of Public Administration and Related Offenses
§ 16-10-20. False Statements and Writings, Concealment of Facts, and Fraudulent

Documents in Matters Within Jurisdiction of State or Political Subdivisions
Universal Citation: GA Code § 16-10-20 (2022)

A person who knowingly and willfully falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact; makes a false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or makes or uses any false writing or document, knowing the same to contain any false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry, in any matter within the jurisdiction of any department or agency of state government or of the government of any county, city, or other political subdivision of this state shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years, or both.

Absolutely.

Any legal filing where Fani Willis has lied would be illegal.

To date, that is not the issue that Mike Roman is contesting. He is just complaining about their relationship. So, please, provide the statute that supports his complaint.

Anyone that thinks a black woman public official should not be able to hire her boyfriend and pay him a million a year is a racist.

The question is, has she built a compelling case against Trump to present to a jury?

So as to multiple questions how any of this could affect a fair trial:

THE LAW FEB. 2, 2024
Fani Willis Has Problems (Upon Problems)
By Elie Honig, a former federal and state prosecutor and a contributor to CAFE

After these allegations surfaced, Willis somehow made it worse still. Prosecutors love to proclaim that “we do our talking in court” (preferably accompanied by a dramatic lowering of the sunglasses over the eyes). This is more than a catchphrase. It’s an affirmation of the core duty to protect the defendant’s liberty interests and the integrity of our criminal process. Indeed, under the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct (and pretty much every other professional code), prosecutors must “refrain from making extrajudicial comments that have a substantial likelihood of heightening public condemnation of the accused.”

Yet Willis did just that. Days after Trump’s co-defendant filed the motion relating to Wade, Willis responded not in a court filing but in a speech from the pulpit of a historic Black church on Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the cameras rolling. Willis told the assembled congregation (and the general public) that the defendants had raised allegations about Wade — criminal defendants are entitled to make motions, by the way — because of Wade’s race.

These public comments by the district attorney are anathema to prosecutorial ethics and fair practice. Willis, who is enormously popular in Fulton County — she received over 71 percent of the Democratic primary vote in 2020, then ran unopposed in the general election — publicly calls the defense teams in her highest-profile case racist. What could outrage a potential jury pool more than that? Various judges have slapped pretrial gag orders on Trump in his other cases to prevent him from making inflammatory public statements outside of court that could prejudice the jury pool. Now Willis has done exactly that.

Well that and his comments that have resulted in rabid members of his support base making threats against court staff, witnesses and prosecutors.

It’s click bait.

They need to keep their audience tuned in.

The ‘Trump’s going to get away with it all’ narrative dies just that.

You should know this, you post so many of the same sorry of articles and opinions.

Fanni can explain and also provide all the details of N Wades meetings with whitehouse lawyers. If she lies and tried to cover it up the lawmakers will root out her corruption and conspiracy with Biden to persecute Trump. The case then implodes and/or gets "postponed" indefinitely such as the case with the Jack Smith Jan 6 KKK act violation indictment (yes, thats correct: Trump is accused of violating the KKK Act of 1871 and NOT insurrection) of Trump, until such time the DC court of appeals decides what to do with Trumps immunity motion and then the SCOTUS gets it next year....well after the 2024 election. LOL

Fanni Willis issued subpoena from House Judiciary

You mean you're loving it when a criminal gets away with his crime.

"Just find me...11,780 votes"

Attempting to subvert democracy might be okay with you, but to people with morality and a belief in democratic ideals, it is not.

I wonder if you feel the same joy when a murderer or rapist gets away with his crime because people involved in his prosecution behaved poorly?

The phone call that trump made, which was recorded by the GS SecState Raffensperger, has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Willis having an affair. ZERO. The grand jury heard that call and preferred charges against trump and his gaggle of goons, a few of whom already pleaded guilty.

Things like democracy, fair elections, proper handling of sensitive classified material, not engaging in theft, not engaging in sexual offenses, not violating bank and insurance fraud laws, and even legal (but immoral) sexual trysts with porn stars while the wife is recovering from childbirth---and then setting up your lawyer to pay the hush money and take the fall---mean something to decent people.

That they mean nothing to you---except "lovin' it" when your messiah might get away with his crimes---says what sort of character you have.

I like democracy. I respect the ideals of my country. I understand what the Founders had in mind when they put their philosophy into writing---understanding their own human frailties and weaknesses, but setting a bar high and a goal that would be a continual work in progress. When some self-serving POS comes along and tries to destroy all of that, and spit on the efforts and sacrifices better people have made for 250 years in an attempt to reach the goal the Founders had in mind, then I take exception not only to that miscreant and traitor, but to anyone who either lacks the moral fiber to call him out, or is so naive and ignorant that they buy his so obviously transparent drivel.

The MAGA (and their sympathizers) calculus is that these aren't really crimes. They are in furtherance of their ideology of ending democracy and replacing it with a fascist dictator since the democracy experiment doesn't really work for them anymore. It is therefore incongruent that there's a morality aspect involved, in particular when you consider that their entire (MAGA) cult is based on racism and a return to the days when whites were whites and black were blacks. It's even more evident when you consider that a large plank of their base is the christian nationalist movement having the SBC at its core, a church founded out of a dispute over slavery and strong links to the KKK.
