Thailand’s Immigration Bureau is preparing for a surge in foreign arrivals over Chinese New Year, with particular attention being paid to the automatic biometrics kiosks at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

On January 24, a breakdown in the immigration checking kiosks caused long queues at the airport, with extra immigration officers having to be drafted in to carry out manual checks. Nation Thailand reports that the bureau has pledged there will be no repeat of that scenario.

Ittiphol Itthisarnronnchai, chief of the Immigration Bureau, says his office has been working with Airports of Thailand to ensure there is no further system breakdown.

I am wondering in which aiports you have to show the boarding pass when entering the country. It must be done here in Thailand and not many people know that and have to find that thing...question is why because it is another not needed thing. All small handlings , fingerprints, picture, boarding pass, visa checking, stamping etyc make queues longer

I rent my pool villa to a Chinese family... they always pay in full ON TIME... unlike the canadian and british renters from last year who finally just skipped out.  Welcome to the Chinese.

How long so far?

Good luck with it, bad tenants. like good ones, come from everywhere.

At least in this country, you can be selective.
