Motorcycle Accident on Jomtien Second Road Claims Two Lives

A tragic motorcycle accident on Jomtien Second Road in Pattaya City, Chonburi province, claimed the lives of two individuals early Monday morning.

 

According to Pol Lt Kamon Apgarun, the investigating officer at the Pattaya Police Station, emergency personnel were alerted to the accident at approximately 4:00 AM on February 12nd, 2024. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found two severely injured individuals and immediately initiated CPR attempts. Sadly, both victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The deceased were identified as Mr. Tangpanithan Phumiphan, 32-years-old, and Mr. Boonma Nissadajon, 46-years-old. Both men were found near their overturned Yamaha NMax motorcycle, which displayed visible skid marks.

Not surprising, those last seconds must have been traumatic.

Another triumph for Pattaya Plod's disinterest in road safety.  With the plethora of CCTV cameras, red light running and speeding could be swiftly eliminated IF RTP did any work!

You can add motorcycles using the underpass and motorway, which I see a lot lately.

That bend is pretty sharp but, being Thais rather than tourists fresh of the last banana boat, they should have known about it. Nobody forced them to drive dangerously fast along there, and they didn't hurt anyone else, so what will be will be. RIP, anyway, a waste of life, but that seems to be the Thai way when it comes to driving.

Speed bumps slow down emergency vehicles and can also cause lives as well as help to save them. but you can bet if someone dies because they could not get to the hospital in time because the ambulance was slowed down by speed bumps you will never hear about it.

It all depends on the individual Thai driver, just as it does with UK drivers.  When I pass by Central Marina I sometimes think of these two:

But the UK idiots, as "our lads," are a protected class, so we twist ourselves into pretzels making excuses. The dear lads were dodging a dog, pothole, or best--it was some Thai's fault, LOL.
