zoolander Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 We've had a new electric meter installed. Previously, we had a spinning disc meter with our ongrid solar system. Would like to know if it's ok to run our currently turned off ongrid inverter. Obviously we don't want to be double charged for electric or blow the meter up.
Crossy Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 You won't fry the meter 🙂 Best to check if your meter counts UP when exporting (some have reported this), ideally if your inverter supports a no-export function you should turn it on. 1 "I don't want to know why you can't. Good recommendation Crossy. A friend went solar - no batteries. The developer installed a digital meter. His electricity bill was higher when he was away so he installed batteries and went 100% off grid. He still received electricity bills. The new meter was charging him for the electricity that he was giving to them. 1
