sandyf Posted February 21 Posted February 21 52 minutes ago, Andrew Dwyer said: For example if I decided to go back home with my wife after seven years here would the headline be “ Thai couple relocates to the U.K. “ ?? No, more likely it would be “ Thai couple fails to relocate in the U.K. “ with statements along the lines “Honestly, there were so many times I felt regretful about this decision. It seemed like the end of the world. Wading through waist-deep government red tape just to get there, I’d look around and think, What am I doing?” But keeping in context the first part of your post is probably right, click bait. 2 2

They've followed their dream, something that is apparent many have not, majority just come here to drink themselves to death with the devils alcohol - horrible drug! Good luck to them... Well done to the couple and best of luck. 5 1 2 1

They obviously had a nice bank account, since stating they can live on $500 a month, along with the 400k in the bank, if marriage visa. Since that's not enough to meet Imm requirements, and nothing financed, or their monthly bills would be more. There monthly petrol bill is probably their biggest expense, since out of town a bit. Don't think they are living off the land yet, or they wouldn't need to spend ฿17k a month, as we spend less than that on necessities, and our garden isn't producing enough food to live on. So quite of bit of BS in that story, and suspect leaving quite a bit out. Kudos for the move, and being independent, as I can relate, but worthy a news-blip ... I think not. OK, I'm officially bored ... Sniffy, time for a walk. 1 2 1

That's no way to talk about our ex poster of the year....... Trans... I have watched several of their vids on Tube, the partner wife or GF rarely appears, plenty of him doing the farmer routine. Bit iffy, some jealous bod will drop him in the do do........

What visas are they here on, if they are below retirement age? How can they own the land they are farming? How have they registered the house in their name? They think it is so isolated to be 30 minuites from the city, lol Also, they dug the well by themselves..haha, with shovels? I am detecting a wee bit of outrage so far But seriously , foreigners building a house in Thailand is not exactly something new. 1 1 1
PETERTHEEATER Posted February 21 Posted February 21 The reason you dont see Anna is she's out tending the rice growing on their 5 acre plot?
Popular Post ChrisY1 Posted February 21 Popular Post Posted February 21 11 hours ago, JensenZ said: It's a bit dumb to advertise to the whole of Thailand that you're working illegally. Ben said: "Despite still being involved in a UK chef recruitment business, the reduced cost of living alleviated work-related stress for him, reported Business Insider. “I don’t need to earn thousands every week or month.” Beyond work, Ben devoted himself to farming and chronicled his experiences on YouTube. He aimed to portray the realities of his journey authentically, encompassing both joys and hardships." So he's working on a chef recruitment business online, and YouTube is a business too. He's a bit of a dumb*** They're Brits! 1 3

IMO, you have chosen a very pleasant picturesque area of Isaan in Thailand to live in. The cost of living will be less expensive than "rip off" Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket etc. etc. down south. I used to live not so faraway in Phu Wiang, Khon Kaen Province before moving to Cambodia. Enjoy your new life. 1 1
