US Supreme Court rules Colorado cannot ban Trump from presidential ballot

The Colorado determination stands!

SCOTUS didn’t mention it.

What SCOTUS did was to void a part of the constitution ruling states can't enforce it.

No. What SCOTUS did was explain to the Colorado AG et al how ridiculous they were trying to Trump off the ballot because they don't like him.

Had the SCOTUS allowed Colorado to remove Trump from the ballot for reasons they made up, next week Ken Paxton would be taking Biden off the ballot for not securing the boarder.

But, ok, when did this adjudicated rape occur?  Have any proof of this ridiculous claim to Trump is an adjudicated rapist"?? No...I didn't think so.

The democracy haters in Colorado and the entire Biden's world got it good yesterday, 9-0 by SCOTUS.

Maybe Biden (mentally unfit) will demand Justice "Ginsburg" resign, LOL,,, after the landmark 9-0 decision to keep Trump on the 2024 ballot.

Good news! The Dems are more likely to win against Trump than against Haley.

Here's a typical leftist media buffoon's take on the ruling:

"Keith Olbermann called for the Supreme Court to be dissolved and took aim at the court’s Democratic-appointed justices Monday, after a unanimous ruling kept former President Trump on the presidential primary ballot.

“The Supreme Court has betrayed democracy. Its members including Jackson, Kagan and Sotomayor have proved themselves inept at reading comprehension,” he said, referring to Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor."

If it were your daughter or mother that was the victim you would care little for the nuance between rape and sexual assault.

If my daughter willingly goes into a dressing room at an upscale department store in New York to fool around with a famous rich playboy (unless it got violent) I would think she got what she went in for, and perhaps a bit more, but I would not blame him.

I think she made it up, either all or in part.

Grabbing a woman's butt is sexual assault.

Imagine being a liberal and constantly reading this hopium about how they finally “got Trump”… only to over and over and over again have your hopes and dreams dashed by reality.

What a sorry existence it must be!

9 to 0. That should tell you everything you need to know about how far any more of  this BS 3rd world stuff about bogus charges against a political opponent is going to go. These liberals ran so long and hard on this. Ho Ho Ho

  • Popular Post

The Supreme Court did not rule that the charges were bogus.

They ruled that disqualification from running for/holding federal office cannot be decided on by individual states  (but states could decide regarding running for/holding office at state level).

Today the progressives want to ban the conservative candidate that they viscerally hate.
Tomorrow the useful idiots will become the target of their own derision, enmity, and lawfare.

Lawfare is the end of actual democracy.  But then again, the western concept of democracy is looking more and more like other -ism and -cracies such as kakistocracies and plutocracies with a bent toward totalitarianism, all framed as "democracies."  When the SCOTUS affirmed for Big Money and Big Corporations via Citizens United vs FEC followed by Congress voting to allow the government to shower the American public with state propaganda on July 2nd 2013, democracy died.  Now they are just filleting the carcass and hanging the commoners meat out to dry.

Everybody saw this ruling coming, so it was of no surprise.  But fret not, many more rulings coming.  Later this month, the Stormy Daniels hush-money trial starts.  Does anyone see Trump winning this case?  5555.....didn't think so.  And it's a criminal case, not a civil one.

I do not think charges were in the scope of the case.

But to be clear, Trump has not been charged with insurrection, much less convicted.

Again, had the ruled in favor of Colorado, there would be nothing to stop Texas from taking Biden off the ballot for not securing the boarder, or for corruption.

Ridiculous false equivalence. The 14th Amendment Section 3 only concerns insurrection. Texas could have done nothing.

(Of course, you know it already).

Nothing to stop them from making something up and calling Biden insurrectionist, Colorado did it to Trump. Trump has never been charged, much less convicted of insurrection.

Changing argument now...

I have no doubt they are eager to make "something" up. 😀

In Colorado, a judge decided he was an insurectionist. Don't they need a court decision in Texas too?

If states could remove which scotus ruled they can't each state has unique election laws so not necessarily.

Yeah, all the left needs to save democracy is to keep anyone that opposes them off the ballot.

Yes.

The Democrats are trying to keep the Republican off the November ballot, using the insidious strategy of getting more votes than the Republican.

There are 2 ballot slots in thr November general election in California. The 2 highest voter getters in the March primary get those 2 slots. Right now, there are 4 top candidates, 3 Dems and 1 Republican.

This sounds like something @Yellowtail should investigate further.

For political zealots on all sides, everyone else's candidates are fascists, dictators, and probably Hitler reborn.  And traitors to boot.

When you understand that? Then you stop getting caught up in the propaganda, the spin, the hyperbole, and realize that most of those aspiring to power are little more than charlatans seeking to wield power for the sake of power.  These are not the people anybody really wants to be running their countries - and yet - fools keep voting the same slime-balls into office regardless of how bad they detest them.  And you get what you deserve.  The rest of us, unfortunately, get the tyranny of the majority.

Of course, they'd be just as wrong as the states trying to remove Trump.  But you can't have it both ways.

No.

The extent of his threat to the world is not hyperbole.
