Former President Donald Trump has thrown down the gauntlet, expressing his readiness to engage in a debate with President Joe Biden at any time and any place. This declaration comes after the two political heavyweights emerged as dominant forces in the Super Tuesday primaries, signaling a potential rematch in the upcoming general election.

Taking to the Truth Social media platform, Trump underscored the importance of engaging in debates on issues crucial to the American people. He called for these debates to occur under flexible conditions, emphasizing his willingness to participate "anytime, anywhere, anyplace." This statement marks a notable departure from Trump's previous stance, where he had chosen to bypass GOP primary debates and had been critical of general-election debates facilitated by the Commission on Presidential Debates.

However, Trump's willingness to engage in debates appears contingent on Biden's agreement to participate. He extended the invitation to engage in debates sanctioned by the Commission on Presidential Debates or even those organized by the Democratic National Committee. The ball is now in Biden's court to respond to this challenge.

The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, sidestepped inquiries about Biden's stance on debating Trump, redirecting the question to the Biden campaign. Meanwhile, Biden's campaign spokesperson, Michael Tyler, opted not to directly address whether Biden would engage in debates, indicating that such discussions would take place at a later stage in the election cycle.

Tyler hinted at Trump's eagerness for attention and his struggle to broaden his appeal beyond his loyal base, suggesting that this issue would be addressed when appropriate. He also pointed out that Trump could tune in to watch the State of the Union address, where he might gain insights into effective governance and uniting the American people.

The prospect of a debate between Trump and Biden adds an intriguing dimension to the upcoming election cycle. In 2020, the two candidates faced off twice in debates, with the cancellation of the middle debate due to Trump's refusal to participate virtually amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the possibility of a high-stakes debate between Trump and Biden looms large, promising to be a pivotal moment in shaping public opinion and influencing the trajectory of the election.

A few things.

Trump is lying.

He always lies.

If the specifics of the debate are proposed, he will object to it.

Also, he's playing a cynical game which seems to suggest there should be debates BEFORE the candidates are nominated by their parties.

Naturally, no president would ever agree to that.

Only if trump wears an electric dog collar so as soon as he lies he gets a jolt or when he try’s to blow it up and or interrupts the opponent he gets a shot!!now that would be a debate to watch!!
