McConnell isn't leaving politics, there was a supreme court judge much older, Noam Chomsky is still going strong. It would be nicer to see a younger and more charismatic person at the helm but I've said it before, if Biden seriously had mental heath issues such as dementia, his doctors would have had a quiet whisper in his ear. The right wing don't get that it does not matter if it's Biden or a drover's dog. Most dems, unlike republicans, vote for the party platform. This is why Biden beat Trump handily in the last election despite his obvious lack of charisma and speech impediemnt. For Republicans, if Trump had a heart attack tomorrow it would be an unmitigated disaster accompanied by mass wailing in the streets.
