CHANTHABURI, March 15 (TNA) – Crystal methamphetamine, also known as “ice” weighing over 60 kilograms washed ashore in multiple locations in the eastern province of Chanthaburi.

It is initially believed that suspected traffickers dumped the illegal drug into the sea to evade inspection.

Staff at a hotel in Tha Mai district reported to authorities that they found a black plastic bag containing white crystalline substances resembling narcotics washed ashore.

Probably heard HTMS Chonburi let a round go and dumped it quick

Barely a day goes by without mention of a massive bust of methamphetamine pills, the typical haul is 10 million tablets, or tens of kilograms of crystal meth.

Obviously most of these drugs are merely being transshipped across Thailand, from Myanmar to ports in the south, destined for Australia, Europe and the Americas.

But a lot falls off the truck/boat and is easily the number one public health concern for Thais.

But wait there's more. With much of the coastline here either mangroves or rocks, expect they'll keep finding more as well as the 'easy' ones washing up on sandy beaches

A total of 285kg of 'ice' has now been recovered at 14 separate locations along the coast of Trat, Chanthaburi and Rayong provinces.spacer.png

And now this haul will only be sold within Thailand.

Not sure.

Crystal meth is expensive here, more than meth pills, so the market here is smaller.

It means that the police will sell it, not destroy it.

More found today, believe that's over 400kg that's either been washed up or 'caught' by fishermen.

These packages have been found along the coast Trat, Chanthaburi and Rayong.

Latest 20kg found on a Koh Chang beach today 27 March 2024, pic from Thairath, same individual 1kg packaging with gold and silver fish logos.
