Community Baby Girl’s Body Found in Bin Bag at Bangkok Condo
Picture courtesy of Workpoint. A garbage collector in Bangkok’s Bangna district made a harrowing discovery on the morning of 3 June, after finding the body of a baby girl wrapped in a towel and placed inside a black plastic bag at a condominium on Soi Lasalle 30. At approximately 10:40, rescue volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation were alerted by Bangna district sanitation workers after one of them stumbled upon the body during routine waste sorting inside the condo’s designated rubbish area. The baby, believed to have been around eight months gestation, was found fully formed with the umbilical cord and placenta still attached. Authorities believe the infant had died within the previous 24 hours. The remains were wrapped in a white towel and placed inside two layers of black plastic bags before being discarded. Officers from Bangna Police Station, together with forensic specialists, were dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation. The baby’s body has since been sent to the forensic department at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital for a post-mortem examination. At this time, the identity of the mother remains unknown, and police are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking with residents and staff at the condominium in an effort to trace her.
