Helps if i spelt the 1st post right

The wifes sister wants to stay with us in the uk next year for a holiday. My wife will be on her indefinate leave to remain visa by then (re-newing in october 07). Wifes sister has children in thailand and a house and a farm. I cant see no problem with her not being able to get it (on these grounds) am i right? is it easy and straight forward for family members to come and visit for holiday? What form do i need?

Many thanks in advance!

Good reason to return to Thailand is what they will be looking for.

Property, kids, money in the bank....

Good luck.

And if she does get one ok make sure that she doesnt stay longer than she put in the application as this can make for some tough questions should she apply for another one in the future.

Another factor which can influence a decision is your sister-in-law's marital status. If she's married in Thailand it can make the process easier than if she were single.

That your sister-in-law is a widow doesn't necessarily mean it will be harder for her to get a visit visa, but it can help if she has a family-related reason, e.g. a spouse, for having to return to Thailand. Having said that, as she owns land and property, this should be perceived by the visa officer as being a valid reason to return. I don't know for how long you are thinking of inviting your sister-in-law, but I'd put in for perhaps two months. The embassy will also want to know who will be looking after the farm in her absence etc.
