From what i understand the chinese have many rules about money and a few other things,all controlled.So thailand and neighbour countries offer more freedom.So real estate is a good way for them to spend their money elsewhere.Russia is similar maybe and lots of money they have  to get rid of,so real estate is a good example.All away from the hands of their country
