Stop making excuses and try the one specifically on pattaya klang (has to be that exact location). I recommend the mystery meat. Also, has a free water machine so bring your bottle or cup.

Bugger off, if they have problems with a vendor they will be replaced. What an arrogant snob!

She is hopeless at farang stuff, and I like to do  a falang fix  myself. A Yorkies pie with baked beans being one such plate.

I got banned from the local food court for throwing food at a vendor and refusing to wear a top. There is NO LAW stating that one must wear a top.

It's no loss. Looking in there it appears to be where alcoholic Thais sit and drink towers of Chang together and old westerners sit alone waiting to die.

On the contrary, assuming your story is true, it was a great win for the food court and every other customer.

Of course, there are "laws" against eating in a food court without a shirt. It's called the policy of the establishment that they have the right to boot idiots who don't conform to the standards of human decency. You deserved a punch in the head for throwing food at a vendor, so you got off lightly.

Not if he was served the mystery meat, knucklehead.

The meat is only a mystery to knuckleheads, knucklehead.

I was in Big C Extra earlier, not much has changed in the food court, full of farang, and many groups sitting around not eating just talking and loitering, Italians seem to like doing that. Fancy that, retiring to Pattaya and spending your days at Big C Extra food court

Surely they cannot be worse than someone reviving a year old thread in order to criticise them for no good reason.

Personally, my experience with Italians is that family meals can last for hours. Shooting the breeze between courses, rather than eating alone. So likely these guys are keeping up a tradition. Maybe even moving to the beach afterwards. Nothing wrong with that. Better than being lonely and isolated.

People hang out at the Big C food courts for the upscale ambiance and atmosphere...

Where better to take a new lady, to impress her with the finer things in life, than a Big C food court?

Some times I just pop in there so I can get a peek at how the other half live...

Someday after I have made it....Big C might let me dine there too...

I ate there a few times long before COVID struck. Girlfriend liked their Royal Pad Thai. There or Fuji. Food centres are part of the Asian experience.

Pier 21 is even less expensive. Would you criticise them if they met there?

Not if you make them yourself. Simply get normal spaghetti, cut into 2cm lengths, glue ends with Super Glue, pile on the (Heinz) ketchup, some salt, sugar and MSG, and off you go.

If you really want it authentic, save a tin can from previous meals, put in the new hoops, and eat directly from there. Hot or cold, it's up to you.

There is no decor. The canteen atmosphere is bleak and depressing.

Why not sit in a nice cafe?

Or somewhere that has a nice terrace?

Or sit at the beach.

Italy probably has thousands of terraces OR "piazzas" (those outdoor areas where people congregate).
Italians know how to live.

Retiring from Italy to Big C food court is a major downgrade.

These guys have lost their marbles.

Maybe they live nearby, eat, shoot the breeze and then retire to the beach. Maybe they are happy to meet with their friends at those places. They aren't there to show off, but to be with friends.

Maybe they like the food and/or are friendly with the vendors. If they weren't happy to be there, they would choose somewhere else, wouldn't they?

It is a public food court, if you don't like it, eat elsewhere. Big C has always been OK, not outstanding but quick, edible and convenient.

It's fun to make fun of people who eat there everyday. Least go to the T21 food court.

Typically sad general narrative that while some attempt to create humorous satirical comment the overall basic critical tone is demeaning and arrogant in my assessment.

Food floors almost exclusively cater to the population who do not yet  or never will feature in the hi so percentage.

Regardless of location in Malls or even the many in back streets the availability , choice, cost, relative freshness caters to mass demand from a diverse social spectrum including students and employees in intense conformity to financially at minimum survive.

Foreigners/ farang /tourists as those presumed by most locals as being financially superior and therefore assumed would be dining in more sophisticated and expensive venues are mostly viewed either as slightly amusing or undesirable financial

A degree of concession is granted for those wha are comfortably in the presence of an Asian partner.

In Pattaya it may be that the vendors list in English purely to obviate the incessant questions that Thai have no need other than to customize an order .

But it would be as rare as hen's teeth that any of them actually seek out foreigner trade as a priority.

Sometimes people feel the need to tread on others to make themselves feel taller.

On the other hand, if that's genuinely the way they see it and are simply expressing their feelings, then we can thank them for sharing.

Good companionship perhaps trumps hi-so.

Human nature  is what it is.

Foreign perspective often grossly biased to origin.

Tourist zones are a distortion that distorted tourists often fail to comprehend the reality of .

It's ok to eat at the food court. It's not feasible to eat in fancy restaurants all the time unless you're really loaded.

But some of these guys seem to sit there for long periods.

It's not the nicest atmosphere to loiter in.
