Our Pomelo was planted about a year ago alongside a number of other trees that have grown well in our rather poor soil here in Nakhon Nayok. The Pomelo is our only fruit tree and is not doing well. Fed it with chicken manure six weeks ago. Maybe we need to feed it with something more nutritious.  Any suggestions? Watered twice a day.

Over-watering is harmful to many young trees, including pomelo. The roots need time to dry a little so they don't rot. Monty would say "they don't like wet feet", so water less often. Depending on the weather, this might be once a week. Cover the ground around the base with a good mulch to slow evaporation.

Chicken manure seems a good choice as long as it is mixed into quality planting soil at something like 5 parts dirt to 1 part chicken sh*t.

This particular tree is badly stressed. It may or may not be too late.

Thank you. We do water the lawn that surrounds the tree twice a day so it is getting a lot of water.

Quite possibly too much.

I hope it gets better (or that its replacement fares better).  It's the king of citrus, especially the thongdee and the pink tab tim jam.

Good advise!   Also, from the photo it appears that it was planted too deep, with the root crown buried and susceptible to crown rot from the over watering.

Looks to have been planted too deep. It might be a tricky job in the heat but: water. Dig around carefully and lift the tree out. Make sure that you replant to the same depth as it grew up in, should be obvious. Don't neglect to water. Or buy a new one!

Is it possible to grow it in a large pot? We irrigate all of the garden so Im thinking of a way to keep it dry.
