orientfan Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Highly recommend staying by the river. it is usually cooler and, unless you plan to do lots of shopping, gives you great travel opportunities on the new, cheap public boats...

Hummin Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 Found a great offer with breakfest at Hilton next to Icon Siam, and booked two nights there, before heading for Divalux, a nice airport hotel. Both have great fitness/ gym and ok swimmingpool. Thanks to those of you who contributed with nice suggestions. https://maps.app.goo.gl/FYUCoBKMrnDRJf8x9 https://maps.app.goo.gl/UA7WJb5fQ6CB9zgz7 1
smokie36 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Marriott Soi 2 has an excellent gym...not the best pool for size and I'm struggling to think of a great one in a hotel in lower Sukhumvit....I use one in Phra Khanong called Opus...superb 25m pool and always quiet....the Marriott has a good jacuzzi and sauna however. For eats I suggest the Italian, Via Emilia...you need to book however....for a superb krapow try Krapow Gapae off Asoke. 1

Its over 5k Baht a month for membership so I moved to Phra Khanong. 1

Hummin Posted August 1 Author Posted August 1 Hilton was a great breeze when I left BKK in March, but not so happy with the gym. 3 people at same time and it was full, and swimmingpool full of kids. Breakfest superb, location (did not leave the hotel for those days we stayed there, ) was great, but now we aiming for a new hotel we have not tried yet. Big swimmingpool, and the gym looks ok, and have a rower as well I see. Hopefully going to be a great experience and nice few days in BKK before we hit the road to Isaan for a couple of weeks, and then some Island experience again. https://www.booking.com/hotel/th/chatrium-suites-bangkok-a-dusit-thani-hotels-partner.en-gb.html?aid=311984&label=chatrium-suites-bangkok-a-dusit-thani-hotels-partner-cJGyYFN_lCFwV6DpR8tynwS227008616311%3Apl%3Ata%3Ap1%3Ap2%3Aac%3Aap%3Aneg%3Afi%3Atikwd-25260518716%3Alp1010865%3Ali%3Adec%3Adm%3Appccp%3DUmFuZG9tSVYkc2RlIyh9YXORK0YJiVoOxcWODxYDaAA&sid=2a4878f9ea3665cd5cc70906d262abf5&all_sr_blocks=4425821_0_2_0_0;checkin=2024-08-08;checkout=2024-08-11;dest_id=-3414440;dest_type=city;dist=0;group_adults=2;group_children=0;hapos=1;highlighted_blocks=4425821_0_2_0_0;hpos=1;matching_block_id=4425821_0_2_0_0;no_rooms=1;req_adults=2;req_children=0;room1=A%2CA;sb_price_type=total;sr_order=popularity;sr_pri_blocks=4425821_0_2_0_0__1390154;srepoch=1722535892;srpvid=ffac7fe36ba90938;type=total;ucfs=1&
