Yeah - this plant-base **** may appeal to some of the Lefty Eco-warrior type in BKK...but for the other 60 million people in Thailand? Meat markets aren't going out of style in my life-time. Not in Asia. "The billionaire class will force governments to outlaw meat for the commoner scum." Right - you do that at the risk of social discord and social uprisings. Oppression works until it fails. Remember: Liberté, égalité, fraternité Are you assuming that the meat that you eat is clean? That it's been raised properly, that it's been processed properly, that the diet was not full of hormones and chemicals? Secondarily what about the process meats that you eat, do you have any idea how toxic that crap is? No reason to get all defensive about an alternative lifestyle and diet, there's a lot of valid reasons why a lot of us don't need meat. 1 1 2
proton Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Meat is murder, eating it is a disgusting and unnecessary habit 🙂 1 1 1 1

It would be interesting to see a legitimate poll taken. I am an average person, I've never hunted but am not opposed to it. I have no desire to personally kill an animal. But if it was required to kill a cow or pig occasionally I would have no problem doing it. I wouldn't enjoy it, but I am never going to switch to fake meat. 1

Smokin Joe Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I love that clip fro Yellowstone. Great rebuttal to the non-meat eaters whose primary motivation is that they don't want to kill anything. 1

Vegans are nutters and a miniroriy interest/pressure group. Humans are animals of the omnivore variety. This is a scientific fact. Personally I like meat from an animal not fake meat made by scientists/chemists. Have you ever been inside a working slaughterhouse ?

AverageAussie Posted April 23 Posted April 23 No one is forcing anyone to eat plant based meat-substitutes. But likewise no-one can deny that the vegan & vegetarian market is huge and continuing to grow. India alone has about 185 Million vegans. FWIW - I love my meat too much to ever consider going full Vegetarian. But that's not to say that I can't enjoy a vegetarian meal and I find the new meat-substitutes have excellent taste & texture. Until a few years ago they didn't compete - now there's almost nothing to differentiate the real & the faux product. Some people may not even pick the difference in a blind taste test.

Not a fan of avocado & almond farms, as they kill a lot of bees in the process. As if they need help being killed off already. 1

I've sliced & dice deer, venison sausage, aroi mak mak, so nothing in a slaughterhouse is going to upset me. Killing something, plant, mammal, fish, bird, it's life, and all creatures do it to survive. You don't kill ... you die Paying someone to do it for you, makes no difference. 1

HappyExpat57 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 If animals don't want to be eaten, then why are they made of food? 1 1
