One way to clean your ears out is unscrew the shower head you use to shower with....This will leave a nice concentrated stream of water from the hose...

Make sure the water pressure in not to high.....Then spray the water into your inner ear......You can clean very deep in your ear this way...

Except Dr Apichai said don't get said water in your ear, it's not clean

yea dont squirt water into your ear. i got infection from doing this in the shower

best way i have found is the ear doc, and her little suction pump that sucks it all out.  it can be a little painful, but it is the best way of clearing everything out.  only about 600 baht for both ears IIRC in hua hin

My ears have been hurting the last few days, possibly because of the flight I just took and build up of wax

I walked past a massage place yesterday offering ear candling

It appears they put a hot 🔥 candle in your ear and it apparently melts the ear wax

I was tempted but decided not to

Are the barbers near Day Night area still offering ear cleaning?

I don't really want to go to Dr Oliver,I guess he would just offer medicine

I think I need them cleaned professionally ,any ear cleaning clinics ?

EMT in every hospital 😂

The problem with hydrogen peroxide is that it doesn't really penetrate very far if the wax runs deep or is impacted. Plus, you're putting an acid in your ear, so you don't want to do it on a regular basis.

Well, it's a base (alkaline) actually.  But indeed it could be nasty.  Think of blocked loo pipe cleaner >> similar kind of chemical.

I have a very bad experience with that pump, I even fainted, it sucks directly on your eardrum!

Nowadayas I first ask if they have that pump, if the answer is yes, I leave the clinic.

As you get older, it seems that you suffer more from earwax, now I also use hydrogen peroxide, but I must admit that if you submit too much earwax, it does not work wel and you have to repeat it more than once.

Had very major problems either huge amts of wax for years until about 30 years ago I use cotton wool buds gently to clean out water after a shower. My ears are 100% clean now all the time. I know buds are not recommended anymore but I swear by them

I complained to my Doc in US about ear problem. Nurse had a basic squirt bottle with long tube attached filled with warm water. She basically flushed out the ear. In the small pan that collected water I could see quite a bit of sandy looking particles. Definitely worked.

That also was my experience years ago in US Doctor’s office.

In its pure form, it's neutral. But in solution, the ph is generally around 4 or 5. So it's a weak acid. This is why most dentists don't recommend using it as a mouthwash. It's also used to white teethen as well as bleach hair, of course. By the way, it can also cure herpes.

Buds aren't recommended and if you're not careful they will drive the wax in further. The cotton tip can even come off and lodge in your ear (it happened to me). They are best for just cleaning the outer ear.

However, if you have an adjustable shower head and put it on the strongest setting, you can use it to flush out the ear. Just direct the flow into the ear. It might take a few attempts though.

The ENT clinic i go to uses a vacuum, quick and painless, if your ear has an infection then they usually give antibiotics first

Hydrogen Peroxide is a BLEACH and can do considerable damage in the wrong hands. As to ones ears? No way!

Well don't drink it then.

But it's great for dissolving ear wax.

The Thai's have used this method for years.

same as I have.

Maybe you had an ear infection so it was very sensitive, for me I only felt a little tickle when he vacuumed out the impacted wax that had most likely been there a long time he said

Ear candling does nothing. What people think is wax from their ear is actually the candle colour. It does nothing to clean your ears.

Having your ears rinsed at a clinic will clean them out.

Go to a proper clinic, not a dodgy massage place. Dr Apichai, ENT specialist on 3rd road near North Pattaya Road is good, about 600-800, may charge per ear, mine was 600 just had a problem left ear. He vacuums the wax out. Check Googlemaps

He charged me 900 for vacuuming both ears. I'd say about 10 minutes max. And the problem (itchy ears) remained totally unresolved. It was a fungal infection. At that price might as well go to Bangkok Pattaya hospital. But don't let them use the monster microscope. They charge you an extra 400 THB. And try and see a lady specialist.  They're a lot more pleasant. And buy your meds at Fascino, just 50m away.

I believe some Thai ladies suffer from this.

(If you don't know Thai slang this won't make any sense to you).

You need a little wax just like you need a few ear hairs -to catch micro particles that could lead to an infection. Don't be too control-freaky about ear wax. If you over-clean your ears, they will just franticly make more wax.

Hydrogen peroxide slightly damages that tender inner ear skin (which leads to more wax to repair it). The water syringe method is not as good as the mini-suction technique (about 600 baht in Chiang Mai).

If you're really waxed to the max, they may put some drops in to make it more liquid and easier to suction out. Hard and soupy ear wax present diff problems.

One time, I went deaf after water got trapped behind the wax after swimming in a pool. It was a 4 hour process to get it out. A dark brown piece, as hard as chocolate and the size of a pea still haunts me.

Interesting problem: I love ear plugs for meditation. I learned not to force them all the way in. I was creating a hard wax buildup right next to my ear drums -which took some extra time and squirmy effort to liquify and get out. I've since moved on to noise cancelation ear buds.

I agree with scubascuba3.

Go to a proper clinic and get your ears taken care of.  Then go to a dodgy massage place.

maybe you didn't make it clear you had itchy ears i.e. not wax problem

Usually advisable to soften the wax beforehand with olive oil or drops from pharmacy

Organs clean themselves, unless you've massively intervened in unnatural build-up.

What you might have is an ear infection hence don't fiddle around with questionable therapies but see and ENT specialist.
