Paying people to keep quiet is not illegal

Influencing and or attempting to influence an election in not illegal.

Illegal donations to a political campaign are...illegal.

Yeah, I know it's hard to wrap your head around that. So, go blame the judge or his daughter, but they didn't arrange to pay Stormy Daniels.

Yeah, Hillary and Obama both got nabbed for campaign finance violations. Hillary for hiring a foreign national to influence the election, and then hiding the payments. She got a slap on the wrist.

Obama for failure to report large foreign donations. The donations were to influence the election, and Obama did not report them, because to do so would have negatively influences the election. He got a slap on the wrist.

What I think is hilarious, is that had Trump classified the payment as a campaign expense, that would be a campaign finance violation, and he would still be in court.

Everyone gets campaign finance violations.

The problem comes if you try to cover one up. Which is what Trump did.

The problem comes if you are Trump. Both Hillary and Obama tried to cover theirs up.

And of course, you're too busy to explain how it's a false equivalence again.... 😁

Not Obama or Clinton. Their campaign and DNC.

If you want to compare how Republican campaigns or the RNC have been unfairly fined, compared to the Dem campaigns and the DNC, feel free to do it! 😀

Your crystal ball is amazing. You already know what the court case is trying to decide.

You should offer your services to the justice department as it would save them having to have any court cases. Just ask your crystal ball. Case solved.

Link, please, to Obama and Clinton personally engaging in a coverup of campaign finance violations.

This court case is about illegal campaign contributions and a subsequent coverup. I don't need a crystal ball to tell you that.

Rich guys pay money to hide their disgraceful behavior all the time. It is unseemly, but not illegal.  I mean, Mushroom Man banged the porn woman what, 18 years ago? The only person who should be p!ssed off is his wife.  Nobody else's business.

I'm surprised that the reason for this trial went right over your head despite you standing on a soap box.

You forgot that his payment to her was an illegal campaign donation.

How would you know if they did? Is your magic crystal ball telling you that?

In fact you don't actually know if they covered up illegal campaign contributions that haven't been exposed. I'm sure that as both are career politicians their careers have been full of crimes that were just not discovered.

I don't know if they did or not, and I'm not saying that I do, unlike you.

Are you taking the michael? If they did it hasn't been exposed. That doesn't mean they didn't do it, just better at hiding it than Trump.

So, asking for a link is just trolling, IMO.

Making definitive statements with no evidence seems to be your favorite trolling technique.

There is testimony that Trump committed campaign finance violations. We haven't gotten to the coverup yet.

Not my job. Alvin Bragg is doing it for me.

You really think Trump didn't support his campaign by paying off Stormy Daniels? Please, please, please tell me you don't think Trump arranged to have her paid off before the election.

Or that the payment had nothing to do with the election.

Please.

You sound very confused.

First you say that Obama and Clinton personally covered up campaign finance violations, now you say you don't know and have no evidence.

Not disclosing them is by definition a coverup.

I could be wrong, but from what I gleaned it was Daniels who approached Trump. Her own lawyer said that it wasn't hush money, just "consideration".  From the Washington Post;

According to Davidson’s testimony, in the days after the damaging Access Hollywood tape came out, Daniels’s manager reached out to the National Enquirer to start brokering a deal that would pay Daniels in exchange for her staying quiet about her alleged tryst with Donald Trump.

This isn't about who approached who. It's about what the purpose of the payment to Stormy Daniels was.

Is there confusion about that? I thought everyone agrees it was to keep her quiet.

You have no idea about the circumstances of the Clinton and Obama campaigns getting dinged for campaign finance violations.
