Biden Urges Atlanta Voters to Stand Against Trump: ‘He’s Running for Revenge’

President Joe Biden addressed supporters in Atlanta, delivering a compelling message against his likely opponent in the upcoming presidential election, former President Donald Trump. Speaking at a campaign reception at Mary Mac’s Tea Room, Biden emphasized the stakes of the impending election and urged voters to reject Trump, whom he accused of seeking revenge rather than leadership.

 

"Folks, Trump isn’t running to lead America. He’s running for revenge," Biden declared, according to pool notes. "And look, revenge is no way to lead a country." This pointed remark underscores Biden's framing of the election as a critical juncture for the nation’s future.

 

Biden’s visit to Atlanta coincided with his commencement address at Morehouse College, where he further courted Georgia voters, a crucial demographic that played a significant role in his narrow 2020 victory. Biden lauded The Peach State electorate, attributing his past success to their turnout and expressing confidence that their support would be pivotal again in November.

 

“Tell people that if you doubt the power of the vote, come visit Georgia,” Biden said, per the pool. “What you’ve all done is incredible. You’re the reason — not a joke — Georgia is the reason I’m president of the United States.”

Despite his praise and optimism, recent polling data has presented challenges for the Biden campaign. A survey from The New York Times revealed that Biden is currently trailing Trump by 10 points in Georgia, a margin second only to Nevada's 12-point gap among key battleground states.

 

Nevertheless, Biden remained upbeat about his chances. "We feel good about the state of the race," he stated. “There’s a lot to do. We know we’re far from over. But we know the race is close. Polls vary from moving up to down to tied but it’s hard to make any poll rational these days.” This statement reflects Biden's awareness of the fluidity and unpredictability of the race.

 

The president’s speech in Atlanta was not just a critique of Trump but also a call to action, emphasizing the broader implications of the election. He warned that Trump’s return to the Oval Office would endanger democratic principles and individual freedoms.

Trump's three pre-covid deficits were 0.7, 0.8, and 1.0 trillion dollars. Not great to be sure. BUT... Biden's two post-covid deficits have been 1..4 and 1.7 trillion respectively. So, respectfully, you are talking out your cloaca.

I disagree a large part of our deficit is due to trumps welfare tax cut to the wealthy and large corporations removing revenue from the government coffers the Biden administration is investing in America our infrastructure and manufacturing base with the American people in mind.to me that is far better than welfare to the Uber wealthy and corporations.oh and it’s trump that seem to have to wear the diaper

This campaign event drew 'dozens' of attendees (literally).....this is a smallish tea shop and not even crowded. Trump pulled in an estimated 85,000 last week in Wildwood NJ. Nuff said.

Government revenue under Trump was in the 3.4 trillion dollar range. Under Biden, from 4.0 to 4.4 trillion.

No, the revenue increase is a lot to do with extra and needless taxes on people. But it does dispute Tug's false assertion that government takings decreased compared with Trump. More tax is being taken, PLUS more money is being borrowed and added to the yearly deficit. Not a winning combination.

Gallup finds 61% of Americans reporting that they own stock, based on its April Economy and Personal Finance survey. This is up from the 56% measured in 2021 and 55% measured in 2020, and is the highest it has been since 2008.

No, I left out the Covid years for BOTH presidents as they are outliers. But you can see that even in 2023, with covid fading away in the distance, Biden STILL nearly doubled the deficit that Trump had pre-covid. 1.7 trillion to 0.98 trillion. 

 

I would say that Biden is spending like a drunken sailor, but that would be an insult to drunken sailors. At least the sailors are spending money that they have, not spending money that their children will have to pay back in the future.
