i do not think the US, EU should steal Russian assets and give them to the corrupt Ukraine, NO, were any of the US,UK, NATO assets seized when they launched their illegal wars in Iraq, Afghan, Lybia, Syria..etc et?? no, they were not... "shelling" comes from translation glitches.

 

various Russian/Ukrainian words describing different kinds of shooting/bombardment are commonly translated with "shelling" in English, for example

"obstrel".

 

Imagine being mocked when using a slightly inexact word in a foreign language when describing how your fellow people are wounded and die.

Seems rather common on here. I don't understand why they are not off to Ukraine if they feel so strongly about it. Even old people would be welcome to work behind the combat area. The military needs cleaners and delivery personnel.
